With the discussion of planes, let's start a detailed discussion. Specifically, by nation, which planes do you want to see. I'm going to list the more poplular aircraft for each nation that has yet to appear in this game. Of course, you can offer other considerations.

Definitely the Thunderbolt P-47. I heard so much stories about them that I think it would make an awesome plane in an AAM game. A "flying brick" with bombs would be great. Make it something along the lines of the Corsair with bombs and against vehicules rating of 7/5/-. Superior Armor 2 would be a good bet on this plane. I heard stories that when you were shot at in a P-47, it was better to run around dodging bullets in the huge cockpit than to try to evade the bullets with the actual plane :p

Another story involves a P-47 strafing a train in france and hitting a pole. One of the wing was very badly cut ( something like 4 feet). Nevertheless, the pilot flew the airplane back home in England.

Anti-soldier ratings should also be huge. Something like 10/8/0 to represent the awesome firepower of the Jug.

Voted P-40. Could be used for France, China (Flying Tigers), Finland & England too! That would help out alot of historical players.

I voted other,as I have been agitating for a P 80 Shooting Star since,we all learned the Me 262 was confirmed...Three jets made it to service before wars end, and we've been given two of them.

Of the others listed,I'd rather see the naval aircraft left to WaS.Beyond them,I'd like a P 47,and I agree with many of you who think a P 40 would be a great addition to the game...the Chinese sorely need something (even an SdKfz 222 repaint) to make them more than 2 pt filler in an Allied army. The P 61 is a cool plane, but absent of bombers (which I hope we don't get) or official weather/darkness rules,I see little use for a night fighter in this game.

Can't vote for one so I pick the Thunderbolt and the P-40. Oh Yeah, one made for ripping up Zeros and one for a Tank Buster. I can dream can't I?

The U.S. has enought fighter aircraft in this game. I went with the Dauntless.

Voted for the Thunderbolt. It's pretty much a lock that it will be in the next set anyway.

P-80 gets my support for set X "Resereves volume II". Until then please no more Korean weapons.

I have a soft spot for the P-61. Theres just something about an already good fighter plane and then putting a turret on it to make it even more fearsome. :)

Gotta go with the P-40 for early war battles in China. The KMT are almost unplayable at this point. The Warhawk would at least give them a glimmer of hope.

I don't really care, but if I HAD to pick one it'd be the P-40. That's if they didn't include it as Chinese..... Either way it'd be a great asset to any Allied player.

On the off chance we did get a Chinese P-40, then give me the Thunderbolt or Widow.

I'm of a split mind with regard to US aircraft.

The P-47, much like the Hawker Hurricane, is very symbolic of the USAAF during WWII.

The P-40 could be a widely-utilized fighter for a number of different nations.

The P-39 is an early war fighter the US doesn't have at this time.

I'd probably settle for an early version of the Flying Jug.

My avatar says which plane I voted for. I want the P-61 too though. You know, with all these aircraft, AH should come out with a new version of Air Force/Dauntless or Mustangs. Heck, Flight Leader too. I want to scramble F-106's vs Backfire bombers and stuff like that.

I voted for the SBD! I love that plane. I pwn hard when I use it in "Coral Sea" in BF1942. :D

I voted for the Thunderbolt, but I'm anxious to see the Dauntless and the Hellcat in a set too.

B-17 or B-25 with def gun turrets

I see you keep indicating bombers needed for every nation. I think bombers would be an odd thing to include in a skirmish game. There are 10-15 fighters or fighter/ground attack planes that could keep this game going for 2-3 sets. Adding medium and heavy bombers is not a smart idea IMO.

High altitude level bombers do not belong in a skirmish game. Their attacks would be woefully inaccurate, and defending units would not be able to attack them in return. Only 2 ground units in this game would have any chance of hitting a bomber. They would simply detract from the focus of the game.

I went for the Airacobra because it was used by the soviets as well, and fits the category of an early war plane, while the existing ones are somewhat later.
