Hy!

In my normal A&A group we handled AA gun fire as follows: As there is one die per attacking aircraft the rolling dice are seperated between bombers and fighters. So a "one" that's rolled for a bomber is also downing a bomber. Having now obtained A&AP the given example in the A&A Pacific rules seems to indicate that the attacker may choose his casualites. Is that right?

That is correct.

We always roll the dice for all planes (fighters and bombers) at once and the defender chooses the victims. This is not correct?
And do you have to use the "split roll" in all the A&A variants?

The "split roll" is only used in A&A Revised, in all other versions the owner of the planes chooses casualties.
