What new units would you like to see added to the Pacfic game? Being a naval duel i would like to see-

1) Battle cruisers- 16 IPC defend and attack @3 to hits to sink.

2) Escort carriers- 10 IPC, attack @ 1 Defend @ 2 holds one fighter.

I'd like to see blockhouses or pillbox rules for islands.

Pillboxes!!! I love it!!! never thought of it before and I don't know why. Some of those islands were really dug in. maybe they could even fire at ships.

I bet I could use the blockhouses from D-day, I already use the black fighters for kamikazees.

Keep it comming I love these ideas!!!

Mines, minelayers and minesweepers. Not sure how it would work, though. One idea put forth by someone (GetStrafed, maybe?) was to treat minefields like AA for ships.

I still to this day remember fondly an old game for the Intellivison called Sea Battle. I loved the mine layers in that game and can't remember seeing layers since.

What about fanatical Island defense?? some maybe 3 max Inf. defend @ 3. This would represent those infantry still fighting 20 years after the war was over.

I don't thinl it would work if every INF. defend @ 3.

Fleet carriers-Attack 0, defend 1, carries 3 planes
Carrier=Attack 0, defend 1, carries 2 planes
Escort Carrier=Attack 0, defend 0, carries 1 plane

Battleships and Heavy Cruisers fire in the opening round, with casualties being removed before combat (like subs no return fire).

It's not a unit, but I like the naval rules in the Axis and Allies Advanced Realism Rules. The draft rules are free on the web. The guy only published part 1 of 3 with FINAL rules. (1) Naval units can pass through Sea Zones without engaging in combat, but enemy units may engage them in 1 round of intercept combat. (2) All naval units may simply "break-off contact" and remain in a SZ, similar to subs. (3) aircraft may perform interceptions in adjacent SZs and can defend naval units in adjacent SZs.
