About Colors ?!

Hi,

Since the colors for the players are the same as the settlements and crew cards, i was wondering if there is someting about it, i didint understood.example, i have blue officer-pirate; do i get someting special about those blue settlements and crew cards.

Or there is no link between the players colors and the rest of the colors of the game, even if there are the same 5 colors evrywhere ?!

Is there a FAQ somehere ?

I don't think so. I just bought this the other day. I didn't see anything in the rules that you get any kind of bonus. And I'm also wondering that when you land on a color, if you just sift through the cards and pick out your own, provided the color matched the space you landed on. Thats the way I've been playing it.
