I'm not here to tell anyone what to think about miniature quality for WaS. But I would like to point out a couple things to people, particularly when you are looking at blown up pictures of the minis on other sites.

The USS Atlanta, for instance, is 3 5/8" long and 5/16" wide at its widest point. The base for airplanes, is 1 3/8" long (on the longer side of the "U"). Try and remember that fact when you look at blown up pictures of these minis. Don't sit there and be shocked when you look at a pic of a Zeke that has a wingspan of 1/2" (approx) and it's blown up 300% in the picture you are looking at and you are wondering why it doesn't look incredibly detailed.

I'm sure many of you will disagree with me. That's fine. I'll stand by what I have said for every release. Wait until you see the miniatures for yourself, in person, then make an informed decision.

There you go again, Bob. Trying to use that fancy schmancy "logic." If we can't make snap judgments without any evidentiary support, what does that leave us? Rational discussion? Heaven forbid! ;)

I'm actually looking forward to this release more with each sneak peek. So I guess your strategy is working.

this is a collectable game...the models in themselves are not collectable...

if you want quality WWII naval wargame ship models that are collectable...look into the various waterline metal cast ship product lines out there...they are useable with any WWII naval wargame rules...

the only value these ships have is their use in palying this game...

For such a small scale game, and that their massed produced, I think that they look pretty good!:D

Even if you know they are small, it's often difficult to realize the real size. If there's something familiar next to the piece, then it's much easier. That's why I took a photo of my scratchbuilt planes next to SSPG & few other AAM -pieces and posted them here.

Bob, why don't YOU take a photo of an Atlanta? We saw what you did with the Yamato (Sans Wave Motion Gun... riiight. :) ), we would trust you to do a decent job. :D

Macrophotography isn't the easiest thing to do, and in fact AANM's miniature length actually makes it even more difficult to do it right. If you want to do it right, it's easier to take a photo of a SS PZGR than a Yamato, really.

I'm not here to tell you how to do your job :) but Bob, your picture of the Yamato is an order of magnitude better than the promotional one that was posted. Obviously you have no control over the quality of pics other people post, but whomever does the official pics for A&ANM needs to use less harsher lighting which obliterates color and detail. Plus, putting out multiple pics from different angles and viewing distances would give people a better impression as well. That could at least better motivate people on the fence to go to their FLGS for a first hand look at the minis.

I'm sure these points have been raised before. But if you guys are concerned about the quality of pics others are posting, counter with better pics of your own. I know, easier said than done, but I think it would be worth it.
