I watched the Dogfights episode about the Bismark and decided to give this game another look. I read the quickstart rules and am thinking of gettin a starter for this game. I did have a question if anyone can answer it.

I read that an aircraft is aborted if the attack against it is equal to its armor. Is that a way of saying it will be disrupted?

Also, how many sectors are on a map?

It looks like it might be an interesting game and I might have to give it a try if I can get the money. Thanks for all the help.

It is a little different than an aircraft disruption in AAM.

Basically the plane would not get to attack in this current turn. (In AAM the plane would not get to return next turn but would still attack on the current turn.) So in essence, for War at Sea, you fend off the attack but do not destroy the squadron. The air unit could still be placed next turn and attempt another attack.

I don't know the answer to the map question.

which estimates the maximum map size as 12x16 cells. Next tuesday the full rules are previewed and it may be possible to give a closer estimate...
