Well I for one I'm glad to see that the Regia Marina got their fair share of spots in Set I and I hope they get a equal number in Set II. The only error on WOTC's part is there are no aircraft in Set I so I voted for the fighter along with Zara and Conte di Cavour classes.

There is a lot of potential here to explore game wise just like I taught my FOW gaming buddies beware the Mad Italian !!

I'd really like to be able to create scenarios for some of the key Mediterranean convoy scenarios. Over the course of late 1941 and 1942, Axis forces attacked the Allies with everything they had to keep critical supplies from reaching the port of Malta.

For Operation Halberd, all that's missing on the Italian side is a fighter (like the Fiat CR.42) and a torpedo bomber (either the SM.79 or SM.84).

Other scenarios will probably involve more units. The reports I've read about Operation Pedestal mention 8 types of attacking aircraft — including SM.84 torpedo bombers, Ju 87 and Ju 88 dive bombers, Bf 109, Bf 110, CR.42, C.202 and Re.2001 fighters — plus 5 different classes of Italian submarines, 2 German U-boats and surface ships.

Italy definitely needs planes, both patrol and torpedo planes minimum. There whole country was one big aircraft carrier!

Malta scenarios are awesome with ships trying to supply it and German and italian planes bombing the crap out of it and trying to sink the freighters so Italy should be very well represented in this game to give some classic what if's scenarios where the Italians didn't use their initiative and equipment well at all. They did have a strong fleet, good planes, and the largest sub force in the world in 1939/40 but were just not very good at waging war.

SM.79 and Macchi C.200/202 seem to be more sorely needed now than even 3 months ago. These are "must haves" to get the Italians competitive in their own right.

fighter and bomber, thats what i want for the Regia Marina :D
if they get that in set 2(or atleast the fighter)
i would start playing as the Italians, and use them most of the time

also hopefully the Kriegsmarine get some fighter cover, an 109 :D
that way i can use those fighters for the italians ;)

I adore the plane, the sig Cinnibar made for them and the unit in WAS; I've said that quote under it more than once when attacking with them. One time before they Pressed through heavy flak and a Zeke to Vital a Kongo. It was almost poetic... and the look on my opponent's face was priceless. :cool:

The Italians can already use Stukas as four squadrons of Stukas equipped the Italian air force while German Stukas flew in support of the Italian Navy on many occasions.

If I was playing against an Italian player and he chose to use up to four Stukas I would raise no objections. The Italians cannot use Kondors.

The Macchi fighter is a must have. Patrol bomber would be second choice. For the third it is hard to decide but would have to go with the Zara.
