Retreating and plane attacks question

Which plane attacks go first or are they simultaneous? Can one plane kill/retreat a unit which allows another unit to retreat from plane fire? Do you not resolve plane casualties until end of plane attacks?

Just as with ground combat, the order of air combat resolution is determined by the players alternating choice of combats to resolve. The player who placed his or her aircraft first chooses which battle to resolve first, the other player chooses the next battle, etc. Casualties and retreats from each battle are resolved before moving to the next battle.
