How many cases did it take to get a set?

I wish I had your luck. I ordered two starters and three cases and I'm missing 4 US and two UK rares. I was pretty sure I wouldn't get a complete set.

What really torques my jaw is I only got three Fletchers out of the three cases. I thought Fletchers were common's. They are! So what happened to the Fletchers?

1 case, 2 Staters, and only missing 10 rares that I will buy separately.
Oh, forgot I got 2 other from E-bay tonight, so I am missing only 8 rares.

Most of them à $10US, plus shipping, well I will not need any other case and will save to buy uncommon and common to built my Armada.

That does sound pretty lousy. Did you get an inordinate amount of some other common?

I have this dread I'm going to end up with a dozen Type 13 Subchasers when my cases finally arrive. :eek:

That is possible. The distribution of my case was really annoying. I got no duplicate rares which is fine except that I also got none of the ships I really wanted. rares were:

Akagi
Shokaku
Princeton
Kongo
Hood
Ark Royal
Graf Spee
Scharnhorst
Baltimore
Canberra
Exeter
Salt Lake City

Exactly what I was NOT hoping for and one of the reasons I complained about cruisers being rare! What a disappointing box! Considering I would much rather have Bismarck, Yamato, Washington, Iowa, or Tennessee instead of those cruisers, I was very disappointed. I would describe my case as a carrier case but without the Enterprise of course.

Here is the kicker that made the case really crappy, not enough planes.

I got all 3 IJN carriers, Ark Royal, and 2 US carriers. Can you guess how many Kates and Vals I pulled? How about 1 of each! I pulled more aircraft carriers than planes for the IJN. Sick.

Stukas? 1
Kondors? ZERO
Catalina 1

The only fleet I could reliably play out of the box would be a wimpy US fleet with the Princeton and St Lo since I did get enough US planes, an oddball Japanese fleet that would contain none of the deadly cruisers that they had like the Tone and Myoko since they are friggin rares and a carrier fleet with no planes although this would be historical for late war ;), a German fleet that would be pummled by air power or by a US battle line.

The best I could manage was the Royal Navy with both Hood and it's negative special ability and Ark Royal and good destroyers. Playable for sure.

At a cost of almost $150 for a case and starter pack, I would have a hard time winning a game. That's pathetic.

If my other case is like this, I will scream bloody murder. It makes me think that I should have bought both cases at the same place but he only got a total of 3 and none for resale, just pre-order. Retailers are scared to death to keep this stuff on hand. What a pisser.

The problem with WAS that a case yields only 1,5 commons of each type...

Same you will miss 4 uncommons from a case...

really annoying.

But the good thing is that the distribution is very even.

My 1st case yielded me all I really wanted and the second - well doubles of the Iowa, Yamato and Bismarck :D

I am still missing a Tone and a Rodney to complete the set

traded away a Hood and a Ark royal for USS Baltimore and a Richelieu - I am quite happy that I got "rid" of those two as they are uniques.

I decided to trade in some commons for uncommos as I really need DD and planes.

Still seeking another Catalina...

I'm with you on that Muench. With AAM it was pretty much two cases and then buy singles. With WaS it's looking like it's going to be three cases and then singles. Ouch, but then that's the price we pay for being plasti-meth addicts!:)

I ended up with alot of submarines and aircraft. Ebay took care of the Fletcher shortage though.

I also had a lot of the uncommon aircraft, but am missing some of the uncommon ships (Gloire and Ajax I think).

But I like the aircraft I got extras of (3 PBYs, 3 Kondors and 2 Bettys), so no complaints.

I'm sure I'll get them as singles/trades or in future boosters.

The only useless units (to some extent) are the subchaser/torpedo boats. Guess which I have multiples of from 1 case?
