Any thoughts on who has the best destroyer?

Fletcher, for sure.

The z 20 Karl Galster with SA: Close escort is pretty nice. The extra ship in this space will be interesting, although I haven't had the chance to try it out as of yet.

The Yukikaze is sweet with it's Long Lance SA, but you sure do pay for it at 12 points.

The Z 20 and the Yukikaze are more specialized, one as an escort and one as a fleet attack DD. Since you asked for the Best Jack of All Trades, I voted for the Fletcher.

What about the Sumner or Gearing classes? I know they aren't represented yet, but................................

We'll see when they come out in Sets II and III. ;)

For only 7 points ... with AA 6, ASW 5, Armor 3 ... The USS Fletcher is a
steal.

Fletcher is OK if you win initiative fairly consistantly.
If your opponent wins initiative, it can't use it's ASW. And some of them will be out of range for torpedo attacks. The armor 3 is good against Zekes. But if you fight another US fleet, Wildcat+Catalina will shoot holes in your Fletchers.
