Cover Art - Lee Marvin?

That looks like Lee Marvin; as he appeared in "The Big Red One", on the cover of "D-Day".

Maybe it just me...too many war movies!

Actually, it DOES look like Lee Marvin! Good eye. I never noticed until you mentioned it.

When I bought my copy from the local game store I heard some dude in the background talking about the cover art. He is of the opinion that the infantryman in the short sleeves is actually a marine, and therefore the cover art is an incorrect depiction of D-Day.

Other than the short sleeves I can't make out anything which would make him a marine. Any ideas?
