Many many not remember the computer game Crusade in Europe, but I've been struck by how similar A&ADDay is to this long-gone game. It was published back in the mid 80's (1985 I think) by Microprose. Though it was a real-time strategy game (not like real-time of today's game though - much slower pace) it had nearly the same configuration of fighter/bomber squadrons that are positioned off-shore (2 US and 2 UK), each able to attack targets anywhere on the battlefield, allied armored divisions, airborne force (MY favorite), infantry divisions and German Grenadier. The computer version of the playing field was much larger of course, stretching all the way to the German frontiers along the Ruhr, but the importance of Cherburg, St. Lo and Caen were no less important then, than they are now. The British HAD to capture Caen, no easy task when you're trying to beat the Germany 12th Panzer Division. I Love that game. Now, I have the boardgame version (well, almost).
