Just for fun ... if your opponent agrees ... use your Kongo as a Nagato.
Besides ... without looking it up ... what are the real differences anyway?

Hmm, interesting! This is right about where I would have put the Nagatos. Right between the Kongo and the Yamato in both cost and abilities. Good call! :)

A couple of suggestions:
Drop the vital armor to 14. This keeps it in line with the Tennessee and Washington.
Up the tertiaries to 5-5-4, keeping with the Kongo. The Nagato had more, slightly smaller guns of similar overall effectiveness.
Add flag -1. These ship were flagships with additional staffing capacity.
Price - looks good, 'maybe' 56.

13 dice at extended range might be a tad tooo good.

Its not too bad. The Washington had 9x16" guns, and has a 14 at range at 56 pts. The Nagato had 8x16" guns...albeit with no radar fire control.

I did something similar a few days ago for Nagato.

I also did this one but wasn't sure what to do with the stats for all those long lances and the points. Any ideas?

According to my info ... during her conversion during the '30s ... her deck
armor was increased to 8" over the magazines, her barbettes to 20", and
torpedo bulges were added. I feel this translates to vital armor 15.
During conversion, her 3" AA guns were removed and replaced by four
twin 5" mounts ( the Kongos had six twin 5" mounts ). If anything,
the secondaries are probably a bit too high.
Don't the Japanese have enough flagships?

I think it should be less expensive than the Bismarck since it doesn't have as high an AA rating.

Holy crap! 6 torpedo dice? OMG
When I saw it was 32 points, I laughed but then I saw the 6, 5 etc torp dice.
This thing would have a huge bullseye on it for SBD's and any other planes flying around.
Long Lance's were good but not that good! lol
With those type of stats, we're getting into Star Wars type units.

They had 16 torpedo tubes compared to the 8 and 12 of other heavy cruisers. I don't think I'd give it such high stats, though. Probably 4/4/3/2.

Does anyone think that the Nagato could be one of the Japanese battleships Mr. Baker mentioned in his blog entry?
Either the Nagato or one of the Fuso/Yamashiro or Ise/Hyuga 12*14 inchers.
Babs out!

The Takao should be rated the same as the Myoko in all particulars as it is just a slightly improved version.

Nagato should have vital armor of 14 at best. I am not certain I would give her torpedo defense as the WWI era IJN ships used longitudinal bulkheads in their machinery spaces. Good for limiting flooding at the expense of compromising stability. A few hits on one side and the ship capsizes. Also IJN damage control was not as good as the USN.
