Well i just finished my 22 game and i've decided that i won't continue playing this game. 17 of the 22 games all i had left is my carrier and it is being chased around the board by my friends surface ships or subs.

One thing i learned is if a carrier is by it self retire it as quickly as possible to fight another day or when its out of aircraft why go into surface battles with it, thats just dumb.

Well i guess i won't be around much anymore till maybe WOTC come up with a air war game or the rules change a little to protect carriers from surface fleets.
Take care and have fun

Dugger:) :)

Fix the problem by not letting any island based planes: you can still have the long range stuff like the Betty. Then you will see that CV based air groups to be worth far more. At leat IMO

You could also field something other then a CV...

I am hearing you, but I bet you have kept to the 100 point game. It has been my experience that Carriers should not be played in the 100 point game. First is the cost of the ship, then you have to pay for it again to put the planes on it. This greatly reduces points for surface or screening ships. I am not sure how many ships or points you can muster, but a 150 - 300 point game is much more rounded and the options are much better.

So if you have not had the chance to try it, Please give this a try before you dump it all.

I agree 100 points may work for tournament and blind build games but for serious play 2-300 seems about right.

I also will say don't give up until you play at a higher point level. 150-300 really brings CVs into their own. The only CV I have had any luck with at 100 is the Akagi all of the others are to fragile.

If you leave the game I would probably make an offer for your pieces.....since I have 5 as of right now and they aren't to good. It will be sad that you are leaving the game though so soon.

Try the game with the new Experimental Rules. Or the house rules that were posted the other day for "Light Ships".

Well gentlemen i tried a 200 piont game but i'm not counting it because my dies were so cold i sank 4 of his ships and destoryed 1 aircraft and i lost my entire fleet 0f CV,BB, 2CA,2CL and a mess of DD and aircraft and the only reason i sank a heavy ship was he felt so for me when the dies fell off the table and it was a six on the floor which was just enough to sink his CA.

Game 2 started crappy with the first shot of the game his sub rolled 3 yes 3 6 to wipe out my DD and his second sub rolled 2 6 to blow up my CA so we called it after turn 3 when his kates scored two 6's out of 3 on the Big "E" blowing it up and his second group of Kates got three 6's on my Tennesse sending it to dave jones locker and just to feed the fire his vals wiped out a destoryer.
Anti air you say well you could say my AA crews were either a aleep or they found something better to do the shot at enemy planes so after this i conceeded the game wrote this for you and are debating wether to sell my stuff or just give it to my nephew who loves ship. Actually i gave most of my AAM to him to play with i only kept a small pile of AAM to play skermishes with.

I never have this problem with D&D dice:o
