Here is a really cool site of every task force created in the Pacific for the USA and Imperial Japan. ( Great for the Re-create historical scenarios).

All campains of each ship. What saw action etc...

If you check it out closely it will even tell how many planes and what type of planes were on each carrier. what ships participated down to the DD level..

Names of task forces and their respective commanders (for both sides)

Also detailed Specifications on each and every ship during WW2.. Also for the Atlantic Theater!!!!:D
