Quality control problem?

I recently obtained the March and April Combat Zone tournament games from my local comic shop. They had the winter maps for an A&AM scenerio. However, in each of the boxes were WAS pieces! One had all swordfish planes, while the other had a bag full of the HMS Translucent sub! The winter maps look great, and I will have to use my A&AM pieces I already own to play the scenerios, but what the heck is with the wrong pieces in the kits? I said to myself, "self", maybe these kits came from the messerspit fiasco factory!

Anyone have any ideas?

WOTC did the same thing with SWM. The last 4 months have been SSB promos instead of SWM.

I suggest you locate a WaS player and make a trade.

Yep. We got the same stuff in our CZ Kits. I figured it was just to promote WaS and get us interested. as far as I know, there's no "Combat Ocean Zone" kits yet, so they're putting them in the land based kits.

Maybe in the May kits will have something in regards to the June release of the Expanded Rules! :)

When I first saw the Truculent, I thought, "you're kidding, right?" Then I played a few games with them and the association with watching them sink ships took over. Also, the rest of the subs look better, even the smaller ones, so I don't complain so much now.

I would not agree that they are the "wrong" pieces in the kits. The kits put out what is generally current, and WaS is. I was happy getting another Swordfish. Those planes rock.

Awhile ago I asked if we'd get a separate WaS kit and received no answer...so there's your answer. We get what they want to give us out of what's current for the plastimeth, and the maps...well, a small map which is what is typical would not be useful for WaS so we get another winter map. I have 6 of them now and used them last week so I was happy.
