at the end of the second player's sea movement step, you may place this destroyer in a sector adjacent to itself, which contains an enemy submarine?

Or:
at the end of the second player's sea movement step, you may place this destroyer adjacent to a sector which contains an enemy submarine?

"Sub Hunter -- At the end of the second player's Sea Movement step, you may place this unit in an adjacent sector that contains an enemy submarine."

So the destroyer is placed in a sector that is both adjacent to its current position and which also contains an enemy submarine.
