I recently had a chance to use my JS-3 and JS-2 in a 250 pt. game. I was expecting Americans but when my opponent pulled out a vet. tiger and king tiger, I realized I was probably going to lose. I'll admit I got pretty lucky dice rolls, but buy turn 6 my JS-3 took out the Veteran tiger and my JS-2 destroyed a brumbar and the king tiger. The Superior Armor3 actually made a difference and prevented my JS-3 from being damaged and the He round blew apart an SS panzergenadier.
I always hear people complain about how horrible the JS-3 is for it's price but I'm still pretty impressed. Does anyone else have any success stories about this overpriced monster??

I swarmed a Tiger with ten Renaults. Needless to says, I killed the Tiger. That;s my favorite war story

I hate the IS-3. Too doggone tough to kill.
A beautiful thing if you happen to be Russian.
For those of you who may be confused about the "I" versus the "J", an "I" represents a "J" for people who use an English alphabet.
I guess if you are going to use the whole Russian alphabet for the tank's designation, it ought to be the IC-3.

Heavy tanks get "better" in large games, so I am not surprised that the Soviet armor prevailed. Its really possible. SA3 can be defeated by concentrating the shots on one tank. two disruptions a round still damage a tank.

I've never really been impressed with SA2 or SA3. The best way to kill a heavy is to swarm it anyway, Renaults or not. Superior Armor doesn't help you there.

In large games, it is recomended to use a heavy, supported by at least 4-5 light tanks and a lot of infantry. That's how I have survived here.
Vet. Tiger
2 Elite panzer
2 Strug 3
Carro Armato M13/40
Panzer 2(Jeep hunter)
5 SSPG(I only have 5)
2 SSHF
Grizzled Veteran
15 units, 199pts.
It has worked well against american forces, but haven't faced yet the Russians.

No success against that beast. In one game, I assaulted it with a Sniper Headshot and got it, attacked it point blank with a Flamingo and missed. The Flamingo was disrupted in the same turn and attacked it again point blank and missed. Sent the BMW/Hero down the road on it and missed - twice. Assaulted it with a panzerschrek - missed. I finished the game with SSPGs attacking it with claw hammers, rocks, and screwdrivers. It stood on the objective and didn't budge. TA was a happy man that night.

In a 250-pt. game, heavy tanks become much more playable. I mostly play 100-pt. games and the only time I ever prevailed with a 50+ pt. tank was using an IS-2 against the Japanese. Yeah I know, nothing to brag about.

Shame on you. ;)
TA had a Pershing against my 4 Chi-Has. That was a mess.

Most of the time tanks like that are used in 500 to a 1000 point game to be most effective. Set so there are 3-5 objectives, then one tank is not the problem
