Here is my 100(99) pts Japanese army:

Arisaka Rifle 3 (x4)
Imperial Sniper 8 (x1)
Imperial Sergeant 9 (x1)
Honor-Bound Hero 7 (x1)
Type 92 Machine-Gun Team 7 (x1)
47mm Type 1 Antitank Gun 7 (x2)
Type 97 Chi-Ha 12 (x2)
Type 95 Ha-Go 9 (x1)
Type 2 Ka-Mi Amphibious Tank 9 (x1)

Take out the AT Gun, the Ha-Go, the Ka-Mi and the Sniper. Tht leaves you 40 points for 5 other pieces. Add 4 SNLF Fanatics and a Ho-Ni. You have 15 pieces and still 99pts. Also, If you prefer, change an other Chi-Ha for an other Ho-Ni to add more AT power.

Mine is designed for strictly anti-infantry and light armour.

It looks like a fun build to play. I think it could easily deal with most infantry (cept 5/5) and heavy armor.

Why not throw in some of those nice japanese mortars and a SNLF capt? very nice combo for taking out infantry.

I have a bunch of the type 89 mortar. Very common in my base set boosters.

(too common in fact from what I have)

Yeah, the Japanese weren't known for their tanks. But I wouldn't call them crap.

Neither would I when I had a Ha-Go disrupt a Comet with defensive fire and finished it off during it's assault phase. I love the little tanks!

Your build is a solid start. To be consistent with your intent to be primarily effective in facing infantry/light armor builds, I think I would make a few changes. Remove the Imperial Sniper and a 47mm Type 1 Antitank Gun for 15 pts.Add 2 Arisaka Rifles and an Imperial Sergeant for 15 pts. Your one sergeant is going to be drawing heavy fire, you'll need a back. You'll also need more Arisaka Rifles to make them truly useful. I would also swap the Ka-Mi for another Ha-Go, if you have another one.

No I don't have another Ha-Go. I'll probably get the second sergeant and arisakas in theres but I have problems with the 47mm.

take out the following:

both AT guns
1X Chi-HA
the KA-Mi

Add the following:

2x Chi-NU

with this build, you can effectively take on all types of forces

one problem, have no Chi-Nu
