Just so i'm clear, on the defender command decisions - option 1 "Map" means that the defender gets to set up the map right?
I was a little confused because every other option is a complete sentence, while option 1 just states "map" but then goes on to explain that "map" counts as both options.

Defender can CHOOSE two options:
1. Map(choose the map, instead of rolling for one as normal)

How are you deciding who gets to play the battles? Or do you just have everyone do them and then pick from among the results for the actual board game?

You will have one week to play out the battles and report the results to High Command at AAR@wizards.com. Play the battles with your friends, online or even solo. You don’t have to sign up to play and you don’t have to stick to a chosen a side - just pick a battle and report the results.
Do whatever you want. Just report it when you're done.
Have fun! :D

Can we play the Play-by-post matches here? I don't want to clog up the play-by-post section

It aint that hard guys. Just play the game out according to each battle ticket. Play at home, play by post, play someone else, or play the battle out solo. Whatever you want.
It's basically an evolving scenario where we report the battle results.
For me, I'm playing the battles out solo just as I always have and reporting the results back in to WotC. Have fun! This is great!

If it's the (sort of) same system as the Games Workshop (WarHammer/40K) uses, then the average result of all the AAR's will determine the new positions on the board.

Yeah! Finally it starts! One question though. What does the part on the battle tickets about the salvaged units mean?

I'd have one suggestion to the After Action Report. We're to fill out the form, record the info and then send it in - but not the form itself - which makes sense since it's a pdf file.
But it would be nice if there was a Word doc version or something so we could just send that right back.
Just a thought. :)

I believe it says right on the form not to send it to them. Just send them the results that they request. The form is for our benefit to have on hand when we play the game.

Yep, it says that right on the form. I just like to do everything electronically. :D

Our store would like to support this by having space for gamers to meet, and offering to submit the AAR's, with names, for games played in store. Are there objections from AH?
Also, the rules give marvelous flexibility OOB's; way to go AH!
However, this can lead to some nasty mini-maxing. Suggestions from the list on how to keep this to a minimum, examples of appropriate substitutes, etc, mostly to protect unsuspecting players, would be greatly appreciated!
This is gonna be good!
