The Motherlands virtue was protected from a German armored thrust by a chastity belt of standard Mosin-Nagants, 1 PTRD, 2 6pounders, a Bofors and Cossack Cavalry.
The Initial German Attack was devestating. In true Blitz Krieg fashion the Luftwaffe raked the Bolshaviks with a FW190A followed by the lethal fires of the PZIVDs, STUG, PZIII, & PZII that blasted the Russian Line. Initial prospects were grim as black smoke from the Bofors and BT-7 smudged the sky and the screams of men and horses echoed through the forests.
Only the menacing glare of the commisar holding his Makarov between white knuckles steadied the line. Fear of the danger behind being greater than that before them the Communists returned fire........... The PTRD gunner alined his posts on the PZII at the limit of his range and squeezed. The little hun tank erupted into a ball of flame. The Line cheered!! In its death throes the burning Bofors sqeezed its first and last rounds twords the skies and the Nazi vulter crashed to the earth, its back broken. Then the 6pounders spoke to the Elite Panzer IVs and the tremble of their voices could be felt in Berlin.
And so went the battle, rallied cavalry charged the SS and Moltovs were thrown into hatches by Mosin-Nagants. Two opposing heros embraced in the dance of death, neither rose. The German commandered called for a general retreat and the Russian deffenders jeered and howled at the bloodied jack boots that ran from the field.

I had that happen to me in the Ukraine battle ... and then I noticed that the 6pdr AT-Gun, though being a lendlease unit, is not available yet due to year-restrictions. Which explains why that AT-gun can destroy axis armour just by looking at it sideways.
Can't lend someone equipment that hasn't been made yet.

That is one beautiful piece of writing. Makes me feel as if I was there. Keep up the good work. This is fun.

I agree. 6-pdrs were a bit much. I loved the narrative though.

Having played the German side last battle, I denounce these foul lies for the typical communist propaganda that they are!
(... well-writen propaganda, but still lies! We are winning I tell you! We are!)

At least he fielded some Panzer variants for historical accuracy, and not a bunch of superior French vehicles. Why shoud the germans get Polish and French units? Don't like it. Not one bit.
Add a couple Char-B1s and remove the 6 pounders and then we'll see who retreats.

I've got a collection of war photos and here are a couple for that refere to Germans using French equipment. I think it was fairly common for the Germans to use equipment from countries they overran. I also have pictures of Germans using T-34's, Shermans, Churchills, Renults, and Crusaders. Seems like the campaign game is just allowing the use of the most possible pieces while still allowing for some historical accuracy.

I agree with you that the pieces WERE used. No disagreement here. It's just that they should be limited! ( 20% or so of your army can consist of captured material)

Marquis,
Thanks for the image of the captured S-35. I've got a repaint that is a match for your picture to spring on the Anglo Invaders tomorrow at game night.

IN my Bellerusia game I used 2 stugs, 2 elite panzer iv, and a motorcycle. along with a Wueubelwurfer, a AA gun, 2 mausers, 3 ss grens, and a romanian officer.
I used the Rocket Salvo and destroyed 90% of the russian army the first turn.

Wow ... so he actually moved basicly his entire army in range, sight and explosion radius of a Nebelwerfer ... that's ... that's ... like ... not really smart man!

No he set them up in a town, moved the objective toward him 2 hexes and surounded it. I targeted the hex infront of the objective with Rocket salvo and rolled real well...LOL
I got a little dumb with some troops and had a few dumb losses, trying to wipe him out... but it was plain ugly....
He felt pretty comfortable until I called the rocket Salvo.. then the color ran from his face,,,

must be the first time he faced "rocket salvo" ... I'll guess that he will not forget about it in the future after that. I think the first time I faced a nebelwerfer I did not pay close enough attention (other priorities and whatnot) and got hit hard. Though don't forget that the nebel has "inaccurate", which takes away some of its bite.
