I was thinking. Since AH is now owned by Hasbro/WOTC. Why don't they reissue "Jutland?" I know many of us here would love to see WAS retro-ed back to 1916. The minis would be awesome!
Even if it was presented in A&A form it would be great to play Jutland with miniatures instead of cardboard. Heck they wouldn't even have to rewrite the rules.
Do you think If enough of us ask for an "mini" version of this old classic that we'll get to see it? Tell us what you think out there! :D

I've played and still have the AH Jutland boardgame and i like it very much since it was the first board that i owned.

But as far as a new miniatures game i don't think so.

People can get all the ships from Jutland in 1/3000th scale and 1/6000th scale and maybe other scales as well, and they also have some fair sets of Naval rules also.

Also from the number of ships that took part in the battle 150 British and 101 German, trying to do it in A&A form wouldn't work IMHO just my two cents.

Agreed, with the current War at Sea format it'd be hard to mimic the battleship lines of Jutland the battle. It would take some creative thinking to get it to work. And you'd probably have the destroyers represented as flotillas too.

But there are some durable 1/2400 resin models out there if anyone can homebrew a rules set.

I would buy it!

A pre dreadnought game would also be great - much more scope for ship variety!

Good idea. You wouldn't have to worry about subs and aircraft causing problems, just pure ship action.

The A/H Jutland used counters about 1.5 inches long for each BB, or squadron of DD's.
And still required a large table to play on.
With W@S minis (about 4.5" long) You would need a tennis court to play on.
The issue of ship scale and combat area is a recuring problem in Naval war games. Jutland is one of the most extreem cases of that problem.

Sign me up for 1 of the entire set. Multiples as needed for sister ships. Tennis court not big enough, think gymnasium.

More like ballroom floor at a gaming convention, if it were actually going to get done.

Count me in. What I'd really like to see is a miniature version of WOODEN SHIPS and IRON MEN!!!

Hmmm ... I've never played WSIM any way except with miniatures. If AH were to come out with a collectible miniatures version I guess I'd take a look at it, but the rules -which I'm sure would not be the original WSIM - would have to be much closer to warfare under sail than WaS is to WWII naval warfare before I'd buy into it.
