When a ship with multiple batteries is firing at another ship, does it fire in series or in volley?
Series= Yamato fires at range 1 on another ship:
1) 18 dice against opponent's armor.
2) 8 dice against opponent's armor.
3) 5 dice against opponent's armor.
- typically resulting in 2-3 points of hull damage if the main battery doesn't blow it out of the water.
Volley= Yamato fires at range 1 on another ship:
1) 31 dice against opponent's armor.
- typically killing anything in one turn (unless smoke or other SA saves it).
I think it’s supposed to be a series of shots based on the advanced rule book page 14, paragraph F. Surface attack phase, but the folks I play with say it’s all added together.
Thanks for the help and the excellent game system!
