Urgent message to: Commander Yunnan Army
We began the attack on the city from the west, sticking to cover. The enemy opened up from the woods directly in front of us with their machine guns, but still our brave soldiers advanced. The men continued to advance despite taking heavy casualties and the withering fire from their machine guns. Finally small groups of men dashed into the tree line and began decimating the cowardly chinese who often turned and ran from these fanatical men!
After regrouping we again began to advance toward our objective city but were delayed by minefields and more machine gun fire from the city. We are going to reform for a night attack in the tree line west of the city and request reinforcements, especially armored and artillery support. While this may appear to be a victory to the enemy we now know his strength and weaknesses and are going to use them our advantage. With these I'm confident we will take our objective by dawn. I will not fail like my impulsive and overconfident predecessor did!

The people of Java rejoice as their Japanese liberators enter the Capital city, expelling the oppressive British Colonial Government.

Our forces landed at dawn to no resistance and advanced inland taking the complacent Westerners by surprise. We were forced to take a circutitious route around the west, as the enemy had used a great amount of barbed wire along easy paths of advance. The enemy finally responded by rushing troops into the tree line with armored support. At this moment the SNLF Paratroopers that had been dropped in the dead of night sprang their trap, boxing in the British armor and cutting off their troops in the woods. Our brave soldiers charged on through the enemy fire, taking casualties, but were urged on by their Sergents. Our men exploded into the enemy lines with the force of a Tsunami engaging them in hand to hand combat routing them completely! Then our men continued their charge with renewed vigor again being urged on to superhuman feats by their amazing Sgts. Our men ignored their casualties and poured into the objective city overrunning the paniced defenders. After a pitched hand to hand fight where no quarter was requested or given our men controlled the city.
Highlights
The Chinese commander made a comment at the beginning of the game basically stating that he hoped people wouldn't send in a bunch of fake AARs stating that China was victorious just to be jerks. He then proceeded to win. This has given us ragging material for the upcoming months.
Both winning sides had an ammo dump which played a large part in the victories.
Both games rolled the map Urban Combat which at first was thought to be a boon for the Japanese given all the cover availiable, but the defenders used their 2 choices well picking the setup side and replacing 1/4 of the map to an open one. These choices forced the Japanese players to advance in the open or be funnelled into 1 main axis of attack. Well played by the defenders.
Most importantly everyone had fun and people used units they had never even taken out of the bags and tried something new.
For those that think that 5/5s aren't a big deal and a horde of 4/4s can take them out (God only knows how many units the Chinese commander had, we ignored unit limits, but it was A LOT to get to 110 with only 17 points for wild)... Both Japanese players took only 2 SNLF Fanatics. At the end of both games 3/4 were still alive. These 4 units led the way and were bullet magnets, often being disrupted, but hard charger made it almost impossible for kills to be achieved.
