View Full Version : A Couple questions

A friend got this game from another one of his friends, and it seems to be mostly there, but some pieces seem to be missing too. There are a couple questions on the gameplay aspects...

Rally : As I've eliminated his last unit from the board, is this a legal card for him to play? Otherwise the game would be over.

Fieldworks: These are directional and more than one can be placed per hex? How is this factored when attack die are determined. Can I attack from behind? can a -4 modifier be possible?

Units:
once units move into the same hex, they become attached? so if an infantry moves into a space occupied by artillery they can never be broken apart? and if so, movement of the units(both I'm assuming) would count as 1 unit(including general if applicable) or multiple units?

thanks

Rally: Your opponent can play a Command Card only at the beginning of his turn. As soon as you capture six flags, however, the game is over and you win. Since the game ended when you captured the sixth flag, he doesn't get another turn or any chance to play the Rally card.

Fieldworks: You can have more than one per hex, with different facings. The modifier is -2 if the attacker comes across the fieldworks. Adding more fieldworks to a hex lets you cover more directions against attack, but it doesn't increase the modifier.

Units: Two units can never move into the same hex. The example you gave of an artillery and infantry unit joining together cannot happen. Only a general can move into the same hex as a unit. He becomes attached to that unit if he stops in the hex.

Hi Ash.

I think the card is refering to physical units, not unit types. So, You can deploy an additional cavalry unit only if you started with two or fewer on the board.

Happy gaming.

Question about the "call for reinforcements" card...

Can you please interpret/elaborate on what the top section of the card means? Something about units that were not deployed at the start of the game. Does that mean only if they didn't have a calvary at the beginning? or what?

and can "counter-attack" be played on this card? or is "counter-attack" only for attack oriented cards?

thanks

Counter Attack can be played on any card.

Does counterattacking All Out Assualt cause CA to be shuffled into the deck? I would assume so, but it has always seemed strange to me.

Same here. We've always played it that you don't reshuffle the deck.

I'm pretty sure that Counter-Attack duplicates the last card exactly, so, yes, you would reshuffle the deck. That's how I've always played, anyway :).

Also, about the Construct Fieldworks card, I'm almost certain that you cannot have more than one Fieldwork per hex...

1) Yes...you would shuffle the deck (same as original)
2) You can only have (1) field/pits per hex!

You CAN have more than one fieldwork in the same hex, but only if they come from different cards, i.e. you cannot place both works in the same hex at once, but if you get Fieldworks a second time you may put another work in a hex that already has one. If that makes sense.
