Getting Bulk Men

First Off!, I want to THANK EVERYONE who put in input on my family getting into the game. You all had HUGE influence on us.

We ended up buying the 2 booster starter, and 2 extra boosters. Seeing how with the new expansion coming out, and everyone up and down with the vehicle size changes. Just curious, how could one go about, (outside of ebay), building a single country 100 point army just out of men? I know it prolly wouldnt be to competitive in a tourny style format, but it would be something we could really enjoy, untile the new series/vehicles come out.
With three of us, we were looking at:
American Army
German Army
Japan Army

Japan has sweet grunts also. The Fanatics are very cool, and hey, they got paratroopers also. Need I say more. :)

Ebay is far and away your best bet. Many of the lots on ebay are all infantry with perhaps just a few more common vehicles. You can get rather large groups of infantry that way, without paying for the rares. Many sellers even group them by country, with a wide selection. Dont worry about buying lots that might have too many of 1 kind, a few spares does not hurt, and those lots will possibly have at least some of every kind.

I actually use an all-infantry army for Japan prior to getting the Type 89 Armored car and the Chi-Ha tank.

Basically, you need a Imperial Sargeant, lots of Arisaka Rifles, a couple AT guns (not very useful against Shermans but can defend against Humbers, etc.) and at least a couple SNLF Fanatics. I tend to hide the infantry behind pieces of terrain on the board so enemy tanks can't attack them. Then, when the enemy gets within range, I Banzai charge my guys over. It's not very effective against heavy tanks but it's fairly decent against other infantry.

For the Americans, you can try a Paratrooper army.

I think Herotown . com has to offer army packages, but IMHO they are NOT worth the price as often the basic infantry is missing - I think they simply want to unload the pieces in low demand. (NO ONE NEEDS 6 HEROS... ;))

Going to the Expert Rules articles and getting enough infantry to field each platoon is a good idea.

I have extra of everything except Mausers and SS PG's.

Well i hate to sound stupid, but i dont know what the spinning skull society is..lol. Nor do i know who yokusrex is.

As for people who has sent me PMs about trading vehicles from starters, I would do that. When i get home tonight i will be able to show a list of vehicles i have.
