Can you really hurt someone at 200 yards with a shot gun? I am sure you can but what is the effective range on that gun?

Nope. And since this is a scatter gun, hell no.
I have 8 shotguns in my collection, as well as many others. (I am a wana be red neck)
The average effective range (at its hight) of a shot gun is about 45 yards. Some less some more. The french had a shot gun that was effective up to 60 yards.
Most shot guns lose their power after (to be able to do any type of damage) 50 to 60 yards. After that The spread is so great the damage will become so little. I believe the spread of a shotgun in 3" per foot. I'll have to re-check that.

It is "redneck" as one word.
And the unit should have:
Cost 3
9/0/0
0/0/0
CA 7
H2H 11

As I said wannabe red neck.
And sheeesh, correcting people's spelling. If you were consistent would correct everyone using the word worst (slang for worse, it’s really the same as using the word gooder, or worser.) (very common on here, and in life), using their rather than there, and few dozen other words people use incorrectly. Not a big deal as long as the person get the point across in my opinion.

Since AAM soldiers represent squads I think there is no need to make an official unit out of this one. It's not as important or specialised as a flamethrower, and certainly there weren't whole squads of shotgun-guys running around in WWII.
If this were a game where one soldier-miniature would represent one guy on the field, it would make sense. Maybe with an SA "unlock doors" ;-)

Even if there were such units, I doubt that a shotgun was effective at 100 meters.
So it should only be effective within one hex.
No cover roll would be in order.
I would also add inaccurate and keep the 5 point cost.

I didn't mean it as a personal attack. Just figured you'd like to know.

Yeah... but maybe they could issue a blaze orange hunting cap with flanel shirt on the guy.

That Shotgun getting soved in a view port must be pretty effective at hurting the tankers inside. Maybe a 6 is in order. A 5 doesn't do that much.
I like the range 1 ai value of 6 better than mine.
h2h 11 is better at givnig a 50% outright kill rate against even the best enemy troops.

well some depends on whether you want a 2-point guy or a 3-point guy IMO. I was going for the former and trying not to create a "bargain" piece but more of a flavor piece. In truth the Tommy Gun is already there as a high quality bargain piece doing the same thing only much better. So I thought a much weaker unit might be better rather than getting too close to an existing piece.
My personal taste would be if these kind of pieces (flamethrower, tommy gun, shotgun) could only be used sparingly for certain jobs. The way they did the tommy gun you could buy 10 Tommies, a Stuart, and a few shermans and the Japanese would have to run like hell out of the Jungle!
