Has anybody noticed in Expanded Rules?

Maybe I haven't been very attentive to the boards but I don't think this has been brought up yet. I noticed two things when I got my expanded rules this week.

1) The map configurations in the Expanded rules which show maps, ostensibly ones to be released in the new starter, show maps that have terrain that is significantly different than the terrain presented in the Expanded Rules maps. Take a close look. It may be black and white, but those look like Deserts. Could it be?

2) Take a look at the Kursk scenario. We will be getting an SU-122 in a future set, and the Panzer III Ausf L in the new starter will be a veteran one.

So you are implying with you theory that map 1/2 and 3/4 would be desert...

Thanks Pasalades... I did even play the scenario on p.43 and did not even notice the 2 new thanks in "Future Expansion"... I would say the SU-122 in October and the Veteran Panzer III Ausf L in January with the Desert Expansion.

I really do not think we will see anything new coming out in Set VI, but I could be mistaken.:rolleyes:

Out of 60 units, no new ones... that would be a mistake... I would say 5.
They got the molds (smaller and bigger) done from previous set.

SU-122 is similar to the SU-85
The Panzer III Ausf L is really close to the Panzer III Ausf F.

Don't think that maps are desert. there are configurations including the maps from the advanced booklet, as they are not desert, I think all maps from the starters are "normal"

Even if the maps were still grass, they wouldn't match up too well with Expanded Rules ones looking so different. But would forests preclude a dessert environment?
