I got a Set II booster in my goodie bag.
SE Capt, SNLF Capt, Pnzrgren, Imp Sniper, Kuo Rifleman, Fan Sniper, Ka-Mi, BAR, and the Polish tank.
I'm trying to get my youngest son's Set II booster but no luck yet. He doesn't even play the game or have an interest. Hmmm, maybe I should threaten to take away his 360 or PS2 controllers or cut off the electric in his room?:D

That's a pretty vile looking burger, if you ask me. Where's the chili?!

I hope Australian gamers don't take it for granted, like Southern Californians did...

It's not that we took it for granted.. It's that they put the thing right between 2 major Southern California conventions; Both of which have been running for 20 years plus, and neither of which uses the silly "buy tickets to play games, on top of paying for admission" format.
One of my fellow MiB's (demo team with Steve Jackson Games) was in charge of running all of the gaming (I was in charge of all the SJ Games events). Easily 1/2 - 2/3 of our normal demo teams were already commited to working the other cons BEFORE Socal was set up.
Stratigicon is a 3day long convention that ran 2 weeks after Gencon and there was another all weekend convention who's name i can't recall (too long of a day) that ran the week before it.
If they had moved it to a different part of the year, instead of right next to labor day, It would still be going on and growing

I think that that pic says a 1000 words. It has 1.0 tanks on top and if you want to play 2.0 with newer pieces that are sort of in scale with each other then you're going to have to "eat the cost". Or maybe there's a big hunk of meat joke in there somewhere? Where's the beef? 1.0 on your buns? No, I don't know but I'm sure that it says something. Any art experts out there???

Right next to Labor Day? They were held in December or November.
And if you're putting it up against the Strategicon shows (held in February, May and September each year), what other time would you want a 4th major convention to be held? IMO, they were TOO considerate of Strategicon, and wound up with a convention held too close to the winter holidays.
You may have confused GCSC with LA Conquest, which tried to bring a modernized convention to the LA area a couple of years ago. As dysfunctional as the Strategicon shows have been over the past several years, they still have enough influence in the local gaming community to kill off any competition.
But the cons out here have degenerated into stale and predictable affairs, to the point where I was able to walk into any room, at any given time, and know what tournament would be being played, and what people would be in there playing it! Hopefully, the new management group can entice local gamers back to the cons, I'm liking what I'm seeing so far.

you think thats bad, I saw people tossing boosters in the trashcan and asked for them before they got pitched, who knows how many got caned when I wasNT around.
The Ram is "The place to eat" just for the record.
Went there every night but 1...
Managed to get 2nd place in the Friday night tournament, of course thats not saying much since there wereNT near as many people there this year as before.
Had tons of fun over all, kinda glad I didNT do lots of tournaments like I did last year, that way I could run around and enjoy other things.
