We played this game a few days ago. I remembered to bring my camera this time. We used many of the Expanded rules (overwatch, formations, lethal DF, etc.) on 2-inch maps. You can read a detailed battle report on our blog:
GERMANY Vs. SOVIET UNION 200 x 200 points (http://blog.redgolem.com/archives/218).
Enjoy! :)

Nice battle report. Thanks for posting it.
What unit limit do you use for your 200 point games?

Thanks. We usually don't play with heroes. When we use them, we consider them regular infantry: no spawning; deployed on the map as other figures. Unit limit is 1 special unit (para, hero, partisan) per 100 points although for this game Germany had 3 partisans instead of two normally allowed. That's probably why you're asking, right?

Actually I was just trying to see what the full limit was...ie, at 100 points, its usually 15 units.
I've seen others play 200 points, but keep the 15 unit limit (resulting in heavy tank orgies). Your builds obviously dont follow that line because they have more than 15. Do you just double the limit to 30 (which makes sense)?
Thanks!

No offense,
but whomever played Germany was not so good.
Mistakes:
He let the Soon to be dead Katyusa shoot at something. This should not have happened on turn 1.
He let the 20mm FlaK get shot at by an enemy tank without being a position to kill that offending tank.
He let his Pak-40 get killed in transport on TURN 3. WHAT! IDIOT move. Enemy planes means dismount from weak vehicles on turn 1.
Losing the 20mm, the Pak-40 and 3 soldiers needlessly should result in a loss everytime.

I get it now. Yes, we just double the limits (30 units). You could end up with more than 30 units if one side would take many platoons like the Soviet Assault formation with 6xPPSh-41 and 1 Grenadier... How do you play it for 200 points?

Actually we havent played much at 200, but when we did it was the 30 unit limit (this was before platoons).
My experience was that 200 was too much stuff for the basic maps. We played a few times on a 3x2 maps with 3 objectives and they were pretty good games.
Overall, we tend to stick to 100 points and team games at 150. That way there is more room to maneuver and we can get a few games in in one session to try various ideas.

Thanks for your comments Colonel_Coo. I posted these mistakes as comments on my blog so the German player can learn from this battle. The PAK40 mistake was really from lack of experience playing against aircraft. The Katyusha shot was a costly one-hex miscalculation! It made me pretty happy because it was the first time I used a BM-13 successfully.

Ah ha, Had I known the player hadn't gone against planes previously I would have left out some of the more harsh wording.

I like 200pts games. It seems to have benn very fun, but a Colonel says, those were 3 mistakes that gived the vitory to the soviets.
