Does anyone know where you can get the extra alien powers? I have a post-hasbro version with 20 powers. I heard they made an expansion pack. More powers would be cool.

The powers make the game very exciting in 4 player games, although in 2 player, it is sometimes unfair. Do you know any good alien powers to choose from to make 2-player fun? (Anti-matter is terrible.)

The Hasbro version so far has only released the original game with the 20 alien powers. Some of the older Cosmic Encounter games had expansion sets that included more alien powers. You can find them every once in a while on eBay but they are expensive and I am sure sure if they are 100% compatible with the new version.
In regards to the second question, we have made it a rule in our family to never play Comsic unless we have 4 people. We have found that 2 and even 3 people playing make for a dull game. Our feeling is, the more people you have that can ally with or against you, the more fun you have.

I normaly play with a two player varient. two colours each, blue/green vs red/yelow. heres how it works. uternate the colours around the board so that your two colours do not touch (ie. red, green, yellow, blue) draw a different alien power for each of the different systems. draw a single hand of 7 now play in a clock wise fasion around the bored taking control of your system when it gets its turn. you share the cards between your two aliens but other wise they play seperate games. you can call in your other colour for an allience at any time. to win you need five colonies of each of your colours in eneny controlled systems (ie a blue colony on a green planet doesnt count). It realy balences it up cos drawing one powerful alien is farley likely but drawing two your likely two have at least one crap one. it also boosts up the stratergy considerably cos youve got to decide which cards out of your hand to use with which alien.
