View Full Version : Flakpanzer NA- Overpowered?

I made an NA for the RBAR SS Ruleset, called Flakpanzers. For Version 2.0 of the ruleset, I completely redid the entire thing pretty much and payed attention to your comments. However, is the following NA overpowered?

Flakpanzers

Your Anti-Aircraft units are considered to be armor units with a movement of 1 (attack 3, defense 3). They still have their original capabilities. However, they can now be destroyed in combat like normal units.

would lowering the attack/defense to 2 make this balanced?

Two thoughts.

1: AA is good for one thing. AAing. lol, i dunno if that would be any fun to have them moving around and doing non-aa type things. :(

2: What it would come down too, whether purchasing a normal tank or a flakpanzer is: Which is better? movement 2, or AA capabilities. I guess it would depend on whether your oponent has lots of aircraft, or alot of land area. :(

I, personally, don't like this idea. It doesnt sounds like any fun NA to use or to play against.

its ok. I was trying to make my flakpanzer NA into an actual unit, but I guess I might have to go with my original idea of just letting them have anti-tank capabilities.

I think AA guns should pretty much be used against aircraft. If you want to give them a boost, go with one shot per AA gun, drop the one per territory rule and the make them attack at a two.
I’ve always felt that one gun shooting at multiple targets is a bit odd. The defender should get more die rolls for having more defending pieces on the board, (IE AA guns). They shouldn’t get more die rolls because simply because the attacker has more aircraft.

that 1 per territory rule was already dropped, but only 1 gun is alloud to fire in current rules. I do agree with your logic for the most part, but the AA guns represent a bunch of them, so unless every air unit flys over at the same exact time, they could probably get a good shot on multiple ones.
