Difficult terrain roll required?

In advance, I apologize for the stupid questions. They are bound to have been answered, but we have searched and simply cannot find the answer.

1. If a unit is in the town, must it roll a difficult terrain check to enter the woods from that town hex (it's not along a road)?

2. Must you roll to go from woods to woods?

I think not on number 2, but a friend wanted me to ask.

Yes and yes. Remember that this applies only to vehicles, not soldiers.

Oh, ok. Cool. Soldiers only have to roll to enter the woods once, then they are good to go?

Soldiers never roll to enter woods. See the Terrain Effects Chart -- anywhere it states "Normal" under movement, no roll is needed to enter that terrain. The chart is divided into separate columns for Vehicle and Soldier movement.
