Ok- I am trying to work through this one:
__________________________________________________ _______________
Faith Shall Deliver
"Sacrifice 1 faith
Play on your turn."
Draw 2 cards from anymiracle card deck.
__________________________________________________ _______________
....so if I drew (2) goddess of magic miracle cards, would that allow me to play them IMMEDIATELY even if I didn't have her in play?
(The rules and the card say to play the card IMMEDIATELY but, I was hesitant since I DID NOT have her in play....what is the right action to do here?)
-Thanks- :p

I also did this in our first game, and the other two agreed that they should be played immediately as is stated.

No. The magic goddess still has to be there for you to play the cards. See the top right column of page 8. (This is unlike Pandora's Box, which is the only one that tells you to play them as part of its text.) What's not in doubt from the rules is that you don't have the ability to play the cards.
What's unsatisfyingly less clear is whether you can draw the magic cards at all. I believe the answer is yes, because you can clearly draw death cards, war cards, and sky cards when cards tell you to. But the rules don't resolve the timing problem, because you can't play the magic cards, and there's no other provision for getting those cards in play. So either they sit in your hand for the rest of the game, or you must discard them immediately.
I'd very unofficially say that since this behavior serves no beneficial game purpose, I'd rule that you can't draw these magic cards at all since there's no possibility you can EVER play them. But that would require errata, as would another possibility, that being when your magic goddess comes into play, any magic cards in your hand come into play--and quite honestly, that's probably the best rule of all. Without that errata, though, I would say that the rules allow you to draw the cards and hold them in your hand, but never to play them, even if your magic goddess shows up.

ONe more quick question on this miracle card... both of the miracles you draw must come from the same deck, right? I assume this because it says draw 2 from any miracle card DECK, not DECKS.

WOW...another good question!!! As for the "timing" on the cards, Mike, I think it would be best to be able to keep the magic cards in your hand (face down) and play them immediately AS SOON as you put your goddess of magic into play! (would make more sense then to get the priviledge of getting cards to not being able to "use" them)- :D

Yes, just one deck.

I agree wolfman completely. One could argue that receiving the cards keeps your opponents from getting them, but if you don't even know what cards you are chosing, how can that be a benefit. It makes more sense (and fun) to not only keep your oppenents from getting the cards but using those cards on them.

Ok Mike, I've been thinking: Wouldn't they be able to be played in the "Play miracle Card" phase? After all, that phase allows you to play miracle cards. I know it was designed in the spirit of cards that say "Play on your turn", but wouldnt playing them in this phase make at least partial sense as well?

Yes, it would. As I said, that'd be my preference since it accounts for a situation the rules don't cover. When there's errata in an FAQ, I expect this issue would be dealt with, but it may not necessarily be in that manner.

Actually, you can play the card "Faith shall deliver" in your "play Miracle Cards" step even if you dont control the god of the deck of cards your choosing. this is because in the rulebook it clearly states that "If any rules on a miracle card contradict the rules in this rulebook, use the rules on the card" (page 8. section "4. play miracle cards", last paragraph). so seeing as the card says take 2 from ANY miracle deck, you dont need any gods in play to use this card. but you would need the god in play to play the cards you have drawn.

Right. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's the conclusion that has already been reached (as well as the official ruling from Mike, who is the head developer for the game).
