I've only played one game of AAM with another adult. 98% of all my games are with my 11 year old son. Playing with him has showed me how fun this game can be. He does not get too bent out of shape when he looses and we geneally have a good time playing, laughing and joking the whole time. I wished all games were like that. When he sends jeeps charging in to attack an SS panther, you've got to laugh! Also when he charged and knocked out my Hunting Tiger with a Sherman in the 1st round? Classic!

Anybody have ANY fun stories like that?

Kinda sorta. My opponent was using a Spitfire in an attempt to take out my pair of Sturmoviks. I was using them to gang up on the weaker Panzers. On turn 8, we did the normal thing, but when he placed his Spitfire, it became my Airstrike phase. Instead of smacking the Panzer, my Sturmies attacked his Spitfire. My 1st Sturmy rolled 2-5's, and the rest were 6's. result? A flamed Spitfire victory for a ground attack bomber. Not a cool story about great sportsmanship and having quality time with a son/friend, but a story of the underdog winning out against the more powerful figure.

I once set up three TeKe Tankettes in a wood shielding the objective. I was playing Japan vs a US Sherman Swarm. My opponent tried to roll on past my Tankette line one was stopped by the forest. One got by unharmed and the third was disrupted after passing the forest near the objective. That turn my 4 zeros and three tankettes finished off the 2 shermans near the objective. I won and it was the second best game ever!

Best game ever was when my Japanese destroyed the double Croc build!

My best game ever was a Soviets vs. Germans 1000-point tank orgy. My reds took some serious casualties in the first three turns (well over half the army), but managed to take out all of the key units (multiple vets and kings) in those three turns, setting up a turn-six total annihilation victory with the survivors.

Reckless abandon seems to be a very workable Soviet strategy.

In one of my first games we both had 100 Points. He had a EZ8:D and I had a SS-Panther:D . By turn 3 or 4 that was all that was left. the next 6 Turns we danced with each other and all we could do was disrupt the other ocasionaly:rolleyes: . at Turn 10 he was declared the winner becouse he had the higher point "Disrupted" Unit:eek: .

The first game we decided to do shots of Barenjaeger in between rounds about turn 5 my friend went to roll his dice into our "Box-O-Death", and ended up getting two dice in the box and the rest all over the floor. By turn 7 we forgot most of the rules, whose turn it was, what moved, what fired, and what the hell we were doing. Weve since learned to do 1/2 shots:o

I remember a Pacific battle that TA and I played. He fielded a Pershing and I took it on with 4 Chi-Has - chased that mother away from the objective and won.:D I'm sure that he would've killed for just one more movement point.

My opponent is good at games, but is a sore sore loser. She will ***** the whole game, and then gloat when she wins. I wish I had more 'fun' games with her... :)

Well a "fun" thing happened to me just an hour ago, at the end of a game!

Turn 6, I only have an Sd kfz 222 and a Jagdtiger left, and I have to move it to contest the objective. Waiting for me there are a Ranger and a US Paratrooper. I back up my Jagdtiger at the end of the assault phase to be adjacent to the objective.

Turn 7, I won initiative and put my Jagd in overwatch toward a Sherman. He sends the paratrooper to close assault the 222, and the Ranger in the Jagdtiger's hex. Then he mistakenly moves the Sherman forward, causing lethal overwatch-defensive-fire, damaging him! :D In the assault phase, I finish the poor Sherman, and he destroys my 222. His ranger manage to disrupts the Jagdtiger (but I'm not too worried, with my high armor value combined with my Superior Armor SA)

Turn 8, I miss in assault, his ranger re-disrupt me.

Turn 9, I miss in assault, his paratrooper re-disrupt me.

Coming turn 10, I was pretty confident! For him to win the game, he needs to cause 3 hits in a row to destroy my Jagdtiger (or else I win on points). He starts with his paratrooper, which manage to disrupt me (5 success with CA 8, ok, it's beating the odds a bit, but my friend's always lucky, so I let it go :) ) His ranger now needs to make 2 hits... that means doing 7 success with his Close Assult 7.

....he throws the dice... and does 6 success! But wait! Rangers got "Lead the Way", so he re-rolls his only miss, with him having 50% of winning or loosing the game on this single dice roll. And of course... a 4  Making my Jagdtiger explodes in the last assault phase of the game, netting him an Allied victory, at 3:15am :)
