Hi,

Something came up in our game tonight, and even after reading the appropriate answer about it in the Q&A section (there http://boards.avalonhill.com/showthread.php?t=21856 ) I still have a question that it doesn't seem to answer.

A tank provokes defensive fire in the movement phase and is damaged by it. So he get a face-up disrupted token and a face-down damaged token. Now, in the assault phase that follows, he gets a shot by an AT gun that gets a number of sucesses that equals his current armor (that is by now modified by -1 by the face-up disrupted token, of course).

My question is, since face-up and face-down counters don't stack, does he now receives a face-down disrupted counter, or... since it's the 3rd hit in the turn, he gets a face-down destroyed counter instead?

thanks!

This is the one exception to the rule that face-up and face-down markers don't stack. If the face-up marker came from lethal defensive fire (i.e., that's the rule you're using), then it does stack with additional hits that turn. A way to remember this is to place a face-down disruption marker beneath the face-up one. If the unit also has a face-down damage marker at the end of the turn, the face-down disruption marker is turned face-up; if not, it's discarded. (If the unit has a face-down destroyed marker, then everything is discarded along with the unit, obviously.)
