IMPORTANT! Info On Forum Screen Name Transfer!

Here is a small 4 step direction to transfer your user name to the new boards. Not very difficult once you look this over. If you have any questions just pop them right here or send me a PM.

Step One:

Get to the main page through wizards.com, Gleemax.com or click this link http://forums.gleemax.com/?styleid=70.php?dcmp=ilc-frontpage

This will take you to the main page that looks like this (Picture below) click on the link (circled in red) that reads "click here to log in"

Step Two:

After clicking the link it will take you to a screen that will look like this (picture below)
AVOID filling out the info above!

Go to the bottom click on the link that reads check your migration status. Circled in red.

Step Three:

After you click on the link it will take you to a screen that looks like this (see picture below).

Fill out the correct information!

This requires

your email The email you used to join this forum!
Your Screen Name This is the screen name from this forum boards
*NOTE* when you enter your forum name add AH_ before the screen name, other wise it will not work.
Example: Jesse_James is now AH_Jesse_James
Password This is the exact same password you use to log in to this board. So if it was froastythesnowman on this forums, it will be the same exact letter for letter password. *Case Sensitive*
Then click verify

Step Four:

It will then ask you to pick your default Persona, this is just incase if you have more than one screen name with the Avalon Hill boards, pick the name you use to wish, then clik login to finish you registration to the new forums.

*NOTE* You may switch between names if you have more than one.

I've tried it several times (to make sure I spelled everything correctly). Double-checked my username and password. Made my list, checked it twice. Found out who's naughty and nice, and all that. And still no joy.

OK I think I may have solved it.

When you put in you screen name in

Just put your original screen name.

DO NOT PUT IN AH_ in front

see if that works.

I tried to register fresh like Zero said we could and Lo! My e-mail address was already in use...and my NEW screen name was available. What a backjerk of normality.

When I didn't put AH_ in front of my user name, my information could not be verified and I could not proceed at all. Now that I used AH_AG124, I was allowed to save my information and proceed (successfully, it seems), but now I still can't log in.:confused: Maybe it just takes some time for the information to be processed. This is maddening though - it feels like adding insult to injury ( making us move to an unpopular forum and then making it extremely difficult to do so successfully).:(

I'll try that I was having a problem with mine.

I tested mine out by sending a PM to my self saying

"Hey there little buddy. What's the matter? No set II got you all upset? No worries, its only 7 months away! Chin up!"

If I can see an XML dump of a mangled PM list, and the XML dump gets the orphaned PMs, I have a theory that might fix it.
No guarantees, but it's better than no ideas at all.

On that board I am AH_Lotus but also CeltIberian. I will stay with the latter henceforth. AH_ makes me feel, well, marginalized...marked. Not to mention that "Lotus" seems lost on most people. :rolleyes: Not that I much care but CeltIberian was the name I created for the live talk thingy so it was actually first. That's my name over there. Though there is that other I wanted to use...the one I was originally denied tonight over the e-mail snafu. Hmmm...

To those of you still have trouble logging onto the Gleemax site after you have migrated:

Have you noticed you logon with your email address and password instead of your username and password?

That was one of the changes I had to catch and figure out the hard way.

Yes, I noticed that right away - it was different than to forums to which I was accustomed though. I still can't seem to log on though, even though my verification went smoothly.

Also, the 'Axis & Allies Minis General' section has some good threads on the differences, issues and workarounds over there.

One important setting for me I learned from someone was checking the "use legacy Postbit" checkbox in the Edit options section. This puts the user name and profile information of each post to the left of the post (like on this board) instead of on top of it.

I have difficulty switching between "Qmark" and "AH_Qmark" occasionally for reasons I don't understand, yet other times the switch is seamless.

Something to try is clicking the "logout" link and/or manually deleting all cookies for gleemax.com, then logging in again.
