To summarise, Paradox Entertainment, the Scandinavian-based PC Strategy Games company responsible for making such monumental hits as Europa Universalis 1 & 2, Hearts of Iron, and Victoria, have now gained the rights to Diplomacy and Squad Leader, and are making new PC versions of each.
Despite the mediocre versions of PC Diplomacy that have come before, I have full confidence that this new version will be the best yet. There is no other company I would trust to do this more than Paradox.
If I were to speculate, I'd say it'll turn out as follows: the map will be stunning, the game will be packed with unnessecary (but not unwelcome) detail, and while the mulitplayer will be the focus, the AI will be excellent also. No doubt they will pack it with variants as well, and a bundled editor. All these are the trademarks of Paradox's dedication.
