I am a big chess and M:tG junkie, and I find both of these games much more enjoyable now that they can be played online. Does anyone know if it will be possible, in the future, to play GodStorm online? I know it would be more prohibitive because the game is far longer than either of these examples, but you could make up for that by playing 2-3 player games, or simply not playing if you know you won't have time to finish. I do not think this would detract from the sales on the game, as even now, it's typical that only one player buys the game but many benefit from it (I currently have 8 friends that enjoy the game, but only one board). Also, if you wanted to make more of a formal system, perhaps with a rating system of some kind, you could easily charge a small fee (say, 10 dollars a year) without losing anyone.
