Which power do you prefer to kill first?

If you have a say in killing off any power in a game, which power do you generally see as the biggest threat and would want killed first in any generic scenario of equalish skilled players?

Depends on what Power I am playing, and a whole bunch of other game situation-specific details. As I have stated elsewhere, as a general rule, I like to see people stay in the game, as it usually promotes complexity and thereby increases the chance for me to solo, so there needs to be a significant benefit for me to actively want someone eliminated (as opposed to glomming a couple of their dots and then making peace with them, so they can take their anger out on someone else).

Very much my prefered way of play as well. I'm just fishing for good arguments for the other sides point of view.

I only voted for Austria because I tend to play Italy, and prefer to team up with Turkey, take out Austria, and then move into Turkey and/or France. Usually works for me :D.

Totally the wrong question.
We do not eliminate a power, we eliminate a player.
The pieces sitting around the table are what you need to focus on for the answer to this, not the pieces on the table.

IMO, France always has to go first...just because it's France.

Actually, it's about which nation I'm playing, and who the opposition is.
