OK, for all the people who play by email, and I do not think even 15% play in ftf live games. Why is that? Besides the time factor. Lots of people on here talk about the game and whats good and bad with it, with out even playing in a few ftf games.The game was designed for ftf play in reality.....
There are house games all over North America and a fair number of Cons.

Cons/tournaments: 16 in all, and these are the ones most know about.. there could be more out there.

Long Island, NY; Toronto, Canada;
San Franisco, California; Montreal, Canada;
Vancouver, Canada ; Calgary, Canada;
Baltimore, Maryland; Seattle, Washington;
Columbus, Ohio ; Lake Morey, Vermount;
Boston, Mass; Denver, Colorado;
Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Charlottesville, Virgina;
Portland, Oregon ; Augusta, Georgia;

So no one has an excuse of no one to play with.LOL If you do have troubles finding a game/Con. Let me know and I should be able to point you in the right direction.

The first feature on the site map of the web site below is a player directory organized by zip (or postal) code. The intent is to build a way to find, or start games close by. Look at it and see if there is someone close to you that you can find out if there is some local play going on. Send your name, e-mail and zip code to BuzEddy@aol.com, and let others find you.

Assembling 7 players for a 4 - 6 hour game is a difficult task. The Player Directory is an attempt to make it a little easier.

I think the best reason would be because PBeM players are used to having a nice long time to plan and form alliances, etc., and you don't have that time in FtF; they aren't prepared for the fast pace of FtF, and so prefer to stick with PBeM.

Well, seeing how I'm only a young teenager I doubt they would be interested in playing me, well maybe I can teach me father or something, lol...

When I first started to play I was 16...
there are a LOT of teenagers playing.
There is also a great support for new players by the veterans so if you need a lift to a site or even hosting on a trip it can be arranged.

In the SF Bay area I run two recruiting and training/mentoring tournaments at Boardgame conventions over Memorial Day and Labor Day. There has been about 35-50 people each time for the last 5 years. Of those at least a third have been teenagers or less. The youngest that I taught and played was 9 years old, though I have had at one time 5 pre teens in a game at once and they had a great time. One of the early teenagers I taught at age 13 won the event the first time she played and has been a player ever since.

So please, do not worry about being a teenager, or that it will hurt you in the game...people hurt themselves enough and after all the purpose of the game is to have fun and make it fun for others and teenagers can provide a lot of entertainment and excitment.
