Hi everybody, I've played Risk 2210 the second time now, and I have a questions about it. I want to know, whats the rule about buying command cards. Is there no limit to buy with your energy points cards? because often in the end, one player has got ten or more command cards.
Maybe you now, if its correct or not.

Page 5 of the rules state that you can buy up to 4 cards per turn. You can keep all the cards you don't use, or aren't forced to discard. This means you can have possibly up to 25 cards at the end of the game (includes the 3-Territory bonus Command cards).

I have a question about a specific card, the Nuclear command card "scatter bomb". If there is only one MOD in the territory attacked is it destroyed leaving the territory empty? or does that MOD survive ackording to the Round up-rule?
The cost of the card is only one energy so it shouldn't be so powerful i think. Help me...

The MOD is destroyed.
You destroy half the MODs rounded up. Half of one is one half (1/2), rounded up is one.
It's a good idea to try to have two MODs on each of your territories (within a continent/colony you control) toward thre late-middle game, to gaurd against Scatter Bombs

I agree with Jadedaemon on this one. At first, I read the card the same way as zauriel: "I'm going to remove ½ of 1 MOD, which would leave me with ½. Rounding up, means I would leave it intact."
Playing again with a clearer mind (add coffee for morning sessions, subtract alcohol in the evening), I realized that I was reading the card incorrectly. You round up to determine the number of MODs that are removed. We're talking nukes here, after all. The more devastation that is inflicted, the better.

Don't forget, leaving two mods per undefended territory does force an actual roll on "Rocket Strike Land"... as well. smile.gif
With only one MOD there... it's an auto kill. :D

True. However, in a different thread I mentioned that I thought a territory was contested if it was occupied at the beginning of your turn, not just at the declaration of an invasion--F.A.Q. be d**ned.
I must first deploy forces as a result of the enemy MODs on the board, before I get to play any cards. Saying that a nuked territory suddenly becomes uncontested because a card took out its lone MOD is like double jeopardy.

I agree, B. Even the moderator (that was the moderator, wasn't it? smile.gif thought our (now, apparently house rule because I hadn't realized it was "clarified" differently in the FAQ) was clean, simple, and without a loophole.
Much to our regret if we play in a tournament, we'll continue to use that defination... despite the fact that it does cause us problems from time to time when an "uncontested" territory suddenly becomes "contested" with the appearance of "partisan" stealth MOD's. LOL
(brief expl on that: We use an additional neutral player when we set up. We pick cards and randomly draw one for the neutral player. Since we use "neutrals" in the game, playing SM in an unoccupied territory results in three neutrals being placed there. Maschochistic of us, because our neutrals ALWAYS roll with 1d8. Heh. )

Brewcity - Actually, the comment you referred to wasn't from the moderator (that's me), but rather from Y2Uask, a.k.a. Steve. Replies that you get from him are much better than replies from the moderator because 1) He works directly with Avalon Hill while I don't and 2) He supplies "official" answers and I supply opinions. Consequently, his appreciation of your interpretation carries a lot more weight than mine does, though if it helps I like your interpretation as well.
