If a person plays a Leadership card can he move one of his unattached generals into the same space as an infantry unit attach and then move that infantry unit forward and attack all on the same turn? Even if the general has already moved 3 spaces before attaching?

No, the card only allows you to order Generals that are already attached, and the unit they are attached to. An unattached General is not allowed to move at all.

I'm glad that's true. That's exactly the way we've always played it but in the FAQs it says that when you use the card you can even order unattached generals.

I'd have to check the FAQ again and I don't really want to, but I THINK it says that you may move unattached generals to a unit, but neither the general nor the unit may move after that. I think they can battle.

Well, the card specifically says "attached Generals," so unless that was a typo.... ;)

Here it is.
Leadership -- Does this card allow a general to move and attach to a unit, or does it only apply to generals that are already attached when the card is played?
The wording on this card is unclear. Here’s how it works. Every general receives an order, whether he is attached or not. If the general was not attached, he can move to a unit and become attached. If the general was already attached, the unit can move with the general. In either case, attached infantry and cavalry units can battle and use two extra dice (one for the general and one for the Leadership card). Attached artillery can use one extra die (for the Leadership card).
Hope this clears things up.
