Now that tanks are 3 on the defense, it's a little harder to attack them, especially in Anglo-Egypt on UK1.
What is your go/no go number for UK to counter Anglo-Egypt on UK's first turn?
I am going to assume you are NOT running a KJF or you MOST likely will NOT go to Africa with the India units UK1.
Also, this attack can be deterred by a strong German airforce station in Libya: they can attack your airforce on the ground on G2.
2 German ftrs and a bomber will make me think very hard about landing my bomber and ftr 2 spaces away.
I am not so scared of 1 ftr, 1 bomber as I can add an additional USSR ftr to have plenty of protection.
On the unit count, 3 is the max for me (inf or art, 2 tanks)

What's available on ground units for this attack? 3 Inf, right? (2 from India with tranny, 1 from Transgiordan), + 2-3 Fgt, + 1 BMB...
mmmhm, let me think... 2 Arm max. for me, could also risk 2Arms+Inf/Art but not 100%
3inf+2Fgt+1Bmb vs 1inf+2Arm --> attacker wins 95%+ with loss of 2 units!

if im going after germany and ignoring japan i will go at 3units. if there is four units in egypt then your opponent got very lucky or you bid too high.

only 1UK ftr available for this attack.
I would consider attacking even 4 units.
Landing Russian ftr for protection seems like a good idea. I did it once but regret it because you dont have it available for attacks for 2 full rounds.
Perhaps you should even sacrifice the bomber if an inf can survive to take Egy.
The ftr may land out of range of the Luftwaffe then (f.i. the indian ac)

Well, ok! let's see:
(with: http://www.theunbeliever.com/aaa.html)
3inf+1Fgt+1Bmb vs 2 Arm --> attacker wins 95%, 1,5 unit(s) lost!
3inf+1Fgt+1Bmb vs 2Arm+1inf --> attacker wins 74%, 2,7 units lost!
3inf+1Fgt+1Bmb vs 2Arm+2inf --> attacker wins 42%, 3,9 units lost!
without Bmb:
3inf+1Fgt vs 2Arm --> attacker wins 72%, 2 units lost!
vs 2Arm+1inf ---> attacker wins 35%, 3,2 units lost!
so Panther, vs 4 units it's hot :)

I find myself in the same trouble here. Since egypt is a 100% go for Germany, and UK rather wants to use those infantry against Japan, this decision is important & being made every game here.
3 is the max for me, but i'd have to send over bmb for more guaranteed succes. 4 german unit in Egypt then it is a no-go area :D

How do you guys even think of leaving india to Japan? This is like saying "Go, invade Russia, you have our blessing!"

And by the way, it's a strategic point so if you play a thrilling Minor victory game...

I got other numbers from Cpt. Protons A&A battle simulator:
3inf ftr bmb vs 1inf 2arm:
victory: 95%
3inf ftr bmb vs 2inf 2arm:
victory: 76%

the sim i use says victory but does not say land capture. is this sim the same as mine. if it is then these numbers would be misleading as winning with just the bomber and capturing egypt are quite different
