Lol, sorry for the title.

Lemme tell you something. I've had some problems finishing games lately. I can never have enough time to finish an enitire game. Usually, me and whoever i'm playing with will just have to just guess at whos going to win, judging on whose winning at the moment. Its not fun and IT PISSES ME OFF!!!!

So, what i do is ,basicly, just play 1 theatre. Two, or sometimes three, powers. Capital to capital, with all the area in-between, along with their units and IPC values.

A great example of this is Germany vs Russia. Berlin to Moscow. Everything in-between. Of course, Germany will always win this. Having 8 , more valuable territories, compared to Russia's 5. So what can you do?
Throw in Kazakh S.S.R., Novobrisk, and E.N.O. (and optionaly West Russia) Along with their standard units and IPC values. And you have a suprisingly even, short and fun game.
Its alot like a smaller version of A&A:Europe, Minus UK and Africa. :).
Or, If you want UK and Africa, you can always throw those in too.

Some more theatres you can do:

Pacific/Asia. US, UK and Japan.
Africa. US UK and Germany.
Atlantic Ocean?
Middle East/North Africa?

ITS GREAT!!!!

I was wondering if anyone else does that, or if you think its a decent idea.

I have done it and yes it makes for a quicker game and sometimes more strategy is required.

Have tried many you see, but always came back to THE serious challenge, a full game. As for your time problems, play minor victories. Unless one of the player is an astonishing lucky bastard (like me tonight  ), the game should last 7-8 turns, enough to see who's winning.
