Scenario 23 Question possible spoiler

In scenario 23: Tentacled Horror the Secrets of Survival book and the Traitor's Tome contradict each other.

SoS says "When you defeat a tentacle Tip, it is stunned and retreats to its Root. Put it in the same room as the Root."

TT says "If a Tip is defeated by a Might attack, it reatreats to its Root (instead of being stunned). Put it in the same room as the Root."

If the Tip attacks and is defeated it retreats to the matching root but is it stunned?
Is it stunned if the Heroes attack and defeat it?
Is it stunned if the Heroes attack and defeat it while it is carying another explorer?

Another error in the book.

We play that the end result is the same. That is, the Tip retreats to its Root when it is defeated. It is never stunned (the counter flipped over).

never had that haunt yet, though i sugest going to the avalon hill betrayal at house on the hill faq. i think they right that one

Got a response from Customer service. The tips are never stunned so it will need to be added to the errata.
