Well I didn't think it would ever come to this. I was quite content to play FTF games but after a series of most unfortunate events far beyond the realm of my control I have come to the conclusion that it was time for me to learn how to PBEM.

Since i've gotten a quick, but effective, crash course from Stephen I feel more than ready to tackle anyone, provided of course they realize that i'm still learning all the details and for the longest time didn't know how to make the arrows in mapview do anything but point in the same direction.

Plus the fact i have a whole bunch of free time on my hands i'm actually excited about the prospect of PBEM.

Please PM if you're interested in a game and won't be offended if I ask a few questions along the way.

I don't play the 'out-of'box' rules anymore Vollick. I've played them to boredom and just can't do it anymore.

I like AARe rules. Its still a 'in-test' type of ruleset, but its more fun.

I was up to 6 games at 1 time. that's WAY TOO many. I am now down to 3 games.

I will play you with AARe if you want as soon as one of my games end.

I would like to try out play by email...I'd rather play with the straight out of the box rules as well. Send me an email to: daniel.goodwin@mchsi.com if you want to try to set one up. It ought to be mutually beneficial since I'll be learning as well.

Vollick...you never responded to my email. Are you interested in a mapview game or not? If not, is anyone else interested in a revised edition of A&A via mapview?

Striker and I have agreed on playing a regular OOTB game. But I haven't heard from him in a few days so if anyone else is interested in testing the true power of statistics and having its full fury and wrath unleashed on them by all means let me know and we can set something up.

(Don't worry Striker we can still get our OOTB game going whenever)

vollick, I apologize. My pc screwed up on me. Anyways, please send me another email with the A&A module (I lost it when the pc crashed). I chose to give the bid to Germany and place one tank in the Ukraine. Go ahead and make your opening moves for Russia and send me the files. Let me know if you have any questions.

I'm looking for another opponent, preferably for Enhanced 2.1. If you've never used mapview before let me tell you exactly how easy it is. I only started using it last week and now it seems like i've been doing it for years. Really it's that easy.

So if anyone's willing to tango with Mr. Statistics i'm here for the big dance!

Vollick, why don't you take on Aibrahim from the other post. He's a very good player, and if you beat him, you'll have one-upped me :)

Be careful...Vollick's a cold calculating machine, let me tell you. ;)

I'm still waiting on Maj.Striker's turn. It's been something like a week and no reply, i'm beginning to wonder if Des Moines fell into a giant crack in the earth's crust! I hope not.

I have agreed to a game with axis_roll but when I'll be able to start that I don't know, i'm still not a big fan of blind bids.

If you're interested in testing the true power of statistics and can wait a while post your name.

Oh yes and a game with AWNIL is on the schedule for sometime in the not too distant future.

I have bid both ways (blind and open: bidding lower to be the axis) I think they are both good ways to bid.

Why do you dislike a blind bid so much?

I find that in a game that it's historically clear where the bidding should be, i.e. Oringinal A&A and perhaps AAR then when someone makes a blind bid they are well aware of the situation. In a game like AARe 2.1, which as not had all that many games played of it, the bid amounts haven't settled on a reasonable figure, some say less than 10, some say less than 6. I would think an open bid would help determine where the true value lies better than a blind bid.

axis_roll maybe you could tell me the virtues of a blind bid?

OK, I can understand your train of thought. All I asked was WHY you disliked a blind bid. I neve said I was more for or against either method. I was curious why you disliked a blind bid.

If you want to 'auction' bid for our game, I am fine with that. The blind bid is much easier unless you have an IM type of set up. email is too slow, IMHO.

No worries a_r, if you have a IM program that you want to use to set up a bid just PM me and we can get it set up.

Looking for a game of enhanced with anyone. Sorry no more team games for Mr. Stats. I'm done with the week long turns and the crazy Japanese strategies from my partner! ;)

PM me or post here.
