So Me262 decided to challenge the might of Series. I'll post some info on how its going in a few minutes, but until then, a funny screen shot.

As a side note, in my match with AllWeNeedIsLove, I didn't stick to the strategy 100%. In this game, I am planning on doing so (round 2 is a bit early to tell that for sure).

If you don't get why the screenshot below is funny, I'll explain.

So much for the combat value of those units. I'm sure they'll survive, so I'll have them all shot after the game.
Hey, I play Stalin!

Not every day you see the Soviets and British banding together to repel a German/Japanese Joint Assault!

Propaganda Fliers: $300.

5 Star Generals: $8,000.

Watching every Soviet tank defeated in a single round: Priceless.

There are some things money can't buy.

For everything else, there's mastercard.

But it's all in MY masterplan!
I'll give you all an update soon. Have to check out making screenshots, I'm gonna try and find out now.

Russian tanks are no more. But Mussolini has something to explain as well....
This game is to be continued.

Hoo boy, this is fun :D.

By the way, that first screen shot was hilarious. A similar thing once happened to me, in a game I was playing with a friend; he made an amphibious assault of 2 Infantry vs. my 1 Infantry. I took out the first guy right away, but it took about a dozen rounds to kill the last one :o.

If you think the first one is funny, look at this:

Anyway, let me just sum up what's going on:

The Japanese have all of the Middle East (as well as 2 conveniently placed complexes), however lost Manchuria but has China (not Sinkiang). The Allies are fighting hard against Germany, pretty much now it is a race to Moscow and a race to Berlin. However, and ironically, both Germany and Russia are doing very well.

Series plays Axis: 7 IPC bid (added to German Reichsbank)
Me 262 plays Allied (what other powers are left? :D )
We play a no tech game.
We quit at G4. Series had to leave.

Series sums it up right. Russia isn't beaten at all and UK and US are putting preassure on Germany. But the Pacific is completely abandoned. Only one US sub in these waters now...... I left General Space in charge here.

I'd like to show you some screenshots, but I can't get the screeshots below 57 Kb. This will take me the whole weekend! Man I s*ck at handling computers. But I'll try to get them up here.

Let's skip turn 3 and 4 because I really don't have time to post it all. Yesterday we played for an hour. We will continue the match asap with G5, here are the pictures of the board after R5.

If someone is really intersted in the how I can send you the saved game file, so can upload it in Triple A. If you want to know the why, just ask (and on some issues maybe just don't.... :D ).

I'm not gonna tell you, Series wants to keep it secret. You'll have to go Enigma on his posts to find out I guess.

Take Moscow but fail to take Berlin. There isn't much more to it. Bad dice? Bad play? It's not up to me to judge.

Ah, I see, were the original pictures were after Russia 5 or Round 5? Because if the original pictures were after Russia 5 then I am amazed, because WR is way overdefended and Caucasas will fall.

See, you shouldn't check out my posts too much. After all, what would there be to hide? Tell me. And trust me, I wouldn't put subliminal messages. Never trust shuditkosuk.

I want to see all the maps. Either A) the posted maps were misleading B)Me262 botched the game, or C) Series is a beast. Once I see the R5 map, I might make the challenge that I could win in Me262's position. Without knowing the "unbeatable strategy", the game would perhaps be interesting.

Ah, I see, were the original pictures were after Russia 5 or Round 5? Because if the original pictures were after Russia 5 then I am amazed, because WR is way overdefended and Caucasas will fall.

The pictures were taken after Russia 5. Germany is to make combat moves at that point.
The massed Russian forces in Beolrussia are the result of a big mistake I made in round 4. I left a huge gap there. I made some more mistakes like this. I am just a sloppy player I guess. But in my defense: in Triple A you can't see the whole map and I really need to have oversight. Otherwise I miss things. Next time I play Triple A, I will have the board on the table so I can see the big picture.

Maybe I am the nut the blind squirrel accidentially ran in to, maybe I am not.
I never said I had an unbeatable strategy, or bragged about my A&A qualities. I just like playing this game and although I hate losing, I had a lot of fun playing Series.
I won't say Series strategy is unbeatable, or even revolutionary in it's design. But it's up to you. The only way to find out is play him, I guess.

And how do you botch a game? English is not my native speech, so what does it mean? Screwed up, gave away?

RuHurt
02-18-2005, 06:43 AM
To botch something is to mess it up, particularly when you should have been able to avoid the mess-up.

And I think I get Series' strategy now; it's very clever indeed :D.

Me 262 Schwalbe
02-18-2005, 07:09 AM
Well the botching was on Russia 4 already. Moscow should not have been under so much German pressure, I could have avoided it.
And Series was lucky to capture Moscow. I did the battle 10 times again today (I had the game saved just before this battle was fought). Russia won 8 out of 10. Had he not taken Moscow, the Allies would have knocked out Germany before Japan could take Moscow.
And the second botch was everything I did after Series took Moscow. I should not have gone after Berlin right away, not have taken Moscow back directly etc.

But, bottom line: game over, Series did better than I did, so he deserved to win. Those are my final words on this game.

We agreed a "revenge match". Then I'll play the Axis on the same bid as he did (7 IPC). We'll see what happens then.
