View Full Version : Professor Clausewitz Declares War
Clausewitz

Two weeks ago I sent Moderator Sinister a PM politely requesting the restoration of my thread "A Soviet Barbarossa" in order to avoid any further trouble.
Despite him giving me a solemn commitment to restoring the thread, albeit with "controversial" material removed, I have to tell you now that no such restoration has been made and, consequently, Professor Clausewitz is at War with the Mod. Squad.
I call upon the free peoples of the World to unite against this dark tyranny. Freedom of expression is the first line of defence against Hitler, Stalin, Bush, and others of a like savage mind.
Right, I'm of to melt down some railings and make me some ICBMs.
Well, I'm aligning with Stalin, Bush, and Mod Sin. Any enemy of Clausey is a FRIEND of MINE! :D

Unless I am mistaken I believe that this type of statement is where the trouble began. ;)

Haha, there's some truth in that statement. Clausey, although I agree with your desire to restore the thread, I've got to stand with my man, Bush. :)

I believe my understanding was the moderator Kayn was handling this matter. I will check with her but no reason to declare war on me. First of all my kingdom is a 900 sq. foot country, I have no WMDs, and a firm alliance with the european community, and no plans to invade.
I call my kingdom Sintopia...

And I'd side with Bush and Sin anyway, so you wouldn't stand a chance, Clausey ;) :D.

I wonder if this means I can draft people into the armies of sintopia?

I'm sure you could round up an army of "sinners {sic}" without to much trouble!

The citizens of sintopia have always been a fanatically loyal bunch. Their warriors are legendary, why one legend goes like this...
During the last war Sintopia was involved in paratroopers were needed and when the other nations asked for volunteers only half of the sintopians volunteered "to jump out of planes" Mystified by this, and having been told stories of sintopian bravery, the other nations were mystified that only one half would sign up for such a mission.
Of course later it was revealed that through a fluke of translation the sintopians believed they we jumping out of planes without parachutes... yet 1/2 volunteered

Sounds like my kind of country...I'm in. Only I'd like to be a colonel...they have all the REAL power anyway.

I would do that for my country.
Anyways, I beleive I never even saw the thread. So im neutral. Im still saying the battle would be equal between Clausey and Sin's Country. Clausey is a fanatic, he could probably wipe your country out. Unless I was in its army......
Anywho, wheres the application, General Enderson sounds good to me.

Usually, yea. Pretty much the only way a General gets power, Or "street cred" as I'd call it :D, is by being up at the front with the men 24/7, and advancing with them in an assault. Either that or the men seriously dislike the Generals for sending their buddies to their deaths.

As bad as Bush is, he couldn't hold a candle to Hitler and Stalin.
While I respect Clausewitz's crusade against the "powers-that-be", I don't think that it will make a difference. They screw you at the drive-thru!

Is Yoper calling himself a enemy of sintopia? Or maybe just an enemy of authority in general?

Well if it comes down to war, I will gladly step out of retirement, and back into the lines since I do not believe that Bush belongs in the same list as Stalin or Hitler.
Of course my return would require a promotion. :D

ah, people always seem to forget the others such as Lenin, Frederick II, Gengis Khan, Pinochet, Franco, Musolini, Mao Tse Tung, Ho Chi Mihn, Louis 14th, .. probably hundreds more. Through out history there were many rulers who led tons of people to their deaths. meh, :)

Or Idi Amin (v.c.)! Or Canaan Banana (who had to pass a law forbidding people to make fun of his name-it didn't help he was a notorious rapist; you can probably imagine the newspaper headlines)! Or Julius Caesar! Let's try to think of EVERYONE who every killed a lot of people! Yes!

For all the effort we have put into this "demand thread" we could have redone the original. Seems like a lost cause though.

Let's not forget Saddam Hussein...truly one of the more diabolical characters on the political scene of the 20th century. At least he's out of business for now...definitely a good thing.

See I didn't go there because that is the direction that points us towards getting another thread pulled. I agree with you though, of course there are others.

What? That he is a boob? I would be insulting a perfectly good piece of anatomy if I compared him to a boob!
It would all be quite funny if it wasn't all so dangerous. Self-righteous, bull-in-a-china-shop attitude is going to cost us all.

Ok, this conversation has officially turned too political; personally, that's fine with me, as I wouldn't mind to get into a good discussion with *ahem* certain people. But I'd also rather not see this thread pulled, so let's zip it, shall we gentlemen?

02-23-2005, 06:44 AM
Why not? Clausewitz hasn't posted anything on it for a long time. Seems that he has given up on it. Almost everything else gets sent to another topic area, why not this thread?

This thread has not been moved because it's my understanding that Mod Kayn and Clausewitz were working to resolve the matter and perhaps fix the orginal thread. Since this is still in open issue and orginally about a post made in A&A I'll wait to hear the resolution of the matter.

Why not, Yoper? Maybe because it's technically against the rules... or do those not apply to liberals...? ;)

that's enough political mumbo jumbo. we will resolve this issue and move on.

Now that it's been brought up, perhaps this thread should have been locked or moved earlier. Actually, I had no idea that it would still be generating posts. There are times when we agree to leave a thread alone because it will die out and cause no harm.
Again, let me urge you to utilize the "report post" option rather than posting your objections on a questionable thread, merely click on the triangle which alerts the mods of a possible problem or objection.
Just as an update on the thread that spawned this tongue-in-cheek demand. I hope to have the editing done on it later this week. I'm fairly sure many of you will be disappointed with it once it reappears. As I told Clausewitz in our earlier discussions, it did require extensive editing.
So, lets get back on track with this. I'll close this thread out. Everyone can go back to posting on topic.
