As some of you may know, AAMC is planning on having an AARe tournament in April. I think we are a fairly tight knit group over here at AH. I also think we have many of the best A&A players around, and as a whole, have a better understanding of strategy than those INF-pushers over at the AAMC :) . Therefore, I have proposed the following format to Miguel (AAMC Tourney director) for the tournament:

AH vs. AAMC
-------------------------
-Tourney to consist of 16 players from AH vs. 16 players from AAMC
-Players from each side are seeded 1-8. In the first round, the 8 seeded players from AH meet the 8 unseeded players from AAMC and vice versa. This means 16 head-to-head games right from the start. It also means new AAMC players to Enhanced get an instant tutor.
-After each round, we reseed with top vs. bottom to maximize head-to-head games. If one side has more players remaining, their lowest seeded players play each other.
-Two ways to assess victory are which side wins more head-to-head games, and who eventually emerges as champion (an AHer or an AAMCer).

So whaddaya guys think??? Do you think we can win this??? I think so. I've seen these guys play. All they know how to do is KGF, Race to Moscow, and push INF :) They'd probably have no idea how to counter a German Sub Strategy, or an American Pacific Fleet, as they've probably never even imagined it was possible!!! :D So who's with me here??? Who wants to show these AAMCers what us AHers are all about?!?!? :D

I will join this group of ours.

I would love to play against someone who drops down 2 ICs as Japan.
Many people aren't used to the Pacific fighting.

Then again I would like to be Japan and go NAVAL and take a quick 2 unprotected VCs and win in like round 5! even though the atlantic allied navy is poised to OWN me!! (lol)

"why yes it did look like you were wining, but according to the VC count, it seems as though I have won. Hmmm, I wonder what happend?":p

so far of all the PBEM games i have played, CJ is the only won that was any good and I lost. I am sure some of the guys have had better games and are more experienced in 2nd edition, but so far, i havenet seen it. Let alone AARe. This is for MEN amongst BOYS!

But I hope I get another chance at CJ in the AAMC 4 four. 2004 AAR Tourneyment.

I need revenge!

Hey Axis Roll,

You're lucky I didn't ask to cash in on my AAMC Rankings Points for beating you. Don't worry, I'll be happy to collect some when I beat you and axis_roll. I'm hoping we can play Enhanced 3.0 Rules though which should be out soon (I think I'm gonna go with 3.0 rather than 2.1 - and hopefully this is the final version :) )

When might that happen?

I agree 3.0 is the way to go.

Good News Everyone...

Tournament Sign-ups for AAR Enhanced have begun over at the AAMC ( http://www.dicey.net/nuke/index.php )
Look Under Tournaments Signups, Rules and Explanations

I have sent Miguel (AAMC tourney director) an update for 3.0
I have also asked him about an AAMC vs. AH format - hopefully we can get at least 8-16 players per side

3.0 Downloads should be out tomorrow :)

how will dice rolling occur?

I see that we will be using the AAMc dicey, but mroe than that...

What is the EXACT process for rolling die in this tourney, as it may come up quite often.

1. Detection rolls for subs, pre-rolls _ or combined with combat rolls? I assume pre-rolls and then wait for decision by opponent to continue.

2. german 88s __ i assume its all about rolling the ART first ?

3. Bombards with Yamatos.... I will assume for clarity, that it will be pre rolls. Although in my friendlies i used that each hit was the first INF in a row since return fire was organized as well you could tell what got killed and if that death would have hit.

4. TECHS..... you can automatically get your tech with 6 die.

5. kamikazee fire..? i assume each kamikazee will pre-roll and then not be included for casualties.

6. I'm running blank here..... I'm sure there are more issues that need to be addressed

I am interested but I would be I would like to hear how the seeding is going to be determined. I'm sure the seeding for the AAMC'ers will be done by their internal rankings but for the AH rankings I don't know how that would be determined equitably. Hopefully not series's rankings. ;)

I would like to join. I have not very much playing experience yet (i've only played 12 games now, but I won them all :D (playing both sides)), though i've thought of strategies and counter-strategies for AARe a lot, and I have played a couple of games vs. myself to make the best of both my Allies and my Axis play. So if you are short of players... I'am available...

I still don't have the ability to play anything online, yet.

The tournament is coming soon.

Unfortunately I may be forced to let you guys down and not participate, unless someone wants to REALLY get stuck with doing all my turns for me, and all the replies, & this would require many odd-hour phone calls....

AABattlemap is the program to be used.....? UGH...

I have also apllyed for that tournament but I was dissapointed to see that we have to use battlemap, not motcreation map! And I also dont understand how we will throw Yamamoto battleship or a defending AC?

I would have been proud to defend AH. But I dislike battlemap. In fact, i really dislike pbem, as half the "fun" of a&A is the ftf quick decisions required. Not a 2-3 day break to study every move.

I would join, if someone would agree to play a "live" Triple A game. Now, I dont know if it includes all your rules. So that may not be possible.

I would also like to apply, but I have never been in any contact with Battlemap so I not sure if I want to get into this...

Is there a possibility to agree upon mapview?

Eitherway count me in!!
